Why use candles when you could have a fireplace?

Normally you expect to see candles on the dining table, but you could have the Carl Mertens Guido Wahrmann Paraffin Tabletop Fireplace instead.  Two 18/10 stainless steel tubes serve as the “logs”.  They have cotton wicks and burn liquid paraffin.  They’re mounted on a piece of slate that’s inset into a walnut base.  It measures 10″ X 14″, so it’s all you need for a centerpiece.  It’s $628.84 at AllModern.

  2. Just had a look at their range of products on their site….and I have to say I am shocked! Fireplaces have taken a whole new level in terms of innovation. And I think the table top ‘fireplace’ is a preliminary example. $700 is a lot of money for a ‘fireplace’ like that!
