This reminds me a lot of the small metal stoves that I’ve used with hexamine tablets…great idea, especially with the ports on the side to allow you to feed in more fuel from below instead of having to remove whatever you’re cooking. Just be sure to wipe off the soot with some leaves before you pack it, and you’re good to go…

I have something very similar, I think it’s Russian (Russian looking instructions at least) surplus. Works great for a cup of hot beverage, soup or can of beans. Used it regularly when snow hiking. Would pack it with snow fold it in half pushing the snow out, doing this 2-3 times would get out all the soot. It’s probably 30 years old.
