Most of the screen protectors we cover here on The Gadgeteer are made of some sort of soft and flexible PET film. The Fantom screen protector for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus from XGear takes it up a notch. Made of shatter-proof tempered glass, the Fantom is only .4mm thick with a hardness rating of 8H. A special coating reduces oily and greasy fingerprints. If the protector should be damaged, it will crack but not shatter, much like a car windscreen. Because of the rigidity of the protector and the fact that only the frame is stuck to the screen, the protector installs easily and cleanly, leaving no air bubbles.

I have one of these installed to my Nexus. I was dubious when ordering but now that I have it, it’s better than any other screen protector I’ve ever had. I find I need to tap some parts of the screen just a little firmer than I used to, but once you get used to that it becomes normal behaviour… recommended.
If I use an XGear Fantom tempered glass protector on my GNex, will my Seidio Active case still fit?
