There are a variety of solar charging kits on the market, but not all of them can help you keep your cool. This Mini Solar Kit from Duluth Trading Co. has several attachments that can keep you cool and do several other things, too. First is the solar collector/battery power station (storage capacity not documented). Charge up the power station with 10-12 hours in the sun, then you’ll be able to use any of the five attachments: LED flashlight (up to 17 hours from a full charge), FM radio with speaker (up to 6 hours), reading light (up to 17 hours), USB charging device (up to 2 hours), and a hand-held fan (up to 1.5 hours). Everything fits into a mesh storage bag. The Mini Solar Kit is $49.50 at Duluth Trading’s online store.

This is really funny- when I saw this in the Duluth Trading catalog, I thought I recognized it- http://the-gadgeteer.com/2010/03/28/mini-solar-set-review/
The only difference I can see is that this newer incarnation has a better bag- it is even the same price 🙂
@Mark I’m sorry about that! I checked to see if someone had posted about it before I wrote it up today. I searched with Duluth Trading in the name and nothing came up.
Not a problem- I’ve done the exact same thing! With all the reviews here, and the name changes things go through, it’s gotta happen sometimes.
Besides- I never did find an actual brand name on that thing!
