Jealousy…it's such an ugly word. But that is exactly what I felt after I finished the most excellent corporate espionage thriller I can remember reading – Paranoia, by Joseph Finder. As I was reading the acknowledgements (yes, I always do that), I came accross Joel Evans' and Wes Salmon's names, two guys that I have the privilege of knowing. WOW. To be immortalized in such a way, in a book that I predict everyone will be talking about…I am verklempt! Perhaps the only thing better would be to have an actual character named after you, but this ranks right up there. Congratulations Joel (geek.com) and Wes (wessalmon.com)! If you haven't read Paranoia yet – then do! The story is great, the tension is unreal, and the ending is satisfying. I promise you will like it – and I don't often go out on a limb like that for any book, so that's saying a lot. :0)
