Now that wearables and smartwatches are becoming the norm, it was only a matter of time before traditional watchmakers entered this burgeoning market. Fossil, a company that’s been making watches for over 30 years, recently announced a lineup of wearables and smartwatches.

Fossil teamed up with Intel to create a series of devices that will work with both Android and iPhone via Bluetooth. The lineup includes two smartwatches – one powered by Android Wear – and two smart bracelets. Fossil’s app will work with several different fitness programs like Google Fit and Up by Jawbone. Additionally, all the devices will come with a wireless charging base.

Personally, I’m really excited to see a traditional watchmaker’s take on a smartwatch. I’m really hoping they can blend the best aspects of a traditional timepiece with the convenience Android Wear brings.

The devices will range in price from $125 to $275 and should all be available for the upcoming holiday season. I’m sure they would make an excellent gift for a cop/tech writer who’s tough to buy for anyone in general.
