NuForce has added a cute and affordable speaker to the ever expanding portable audio market. Unlike the rectangular shaped Jambox or Soundmatters FoxL, the NuForce Cube is exactly that, a cube-shaped speaker small enough to carry with you. (Click to enlarge the photos.)
NuForce has added even more to this little wonder that makes it unique: The Cube has a headphones amp that can drive power-hungry headphones. It also has an internal USB digital audio convertor (DAC) that accepts digital music directly from the computer and bypasses the computer’s on-board DAC for superior sound quality.
“I’ve never been satisfied with the sound of other portable speakers on the market,” said Jason Lim, CEO of NuForce. “So we made it our mission to create one that not only sounded great, but looked great.”
All the necessary cables are included and an optional iPod Nano dock is available. Wireless is not supported, but that’s understandable since the Cube sells for only $119 from NuForce’s online store.
