proform tourdefranceRiding a stationary bike can be good exercise, but it can also be really boring. The Pro-Form Le Tour De France Indoor Cycle changes that. First of all, it’s not exactly your typical stationary bike. This cycle has both an incline and decline feature, so you will get a real up and downhill workout. You can also set a wind resistance profile to really make things more realistic. But that’s not all, Le Tour De France cycle is powered by Google Maps, which allows you to ‘ride’ anywhere in the world. It comes with 24 predefined courses too. So plunk down $1,299.00 and you’ll be wearing that Yellow jersey in no time!

  2. They really need to further develop these to have realtime video of the areas you’re riding (okay, maybe some selected areas). Maybe have the bike interface with an iPad or gaming system.

    1. @Ken S Since this cycle is already powered by Google Maps, it wouldn’t take much to interface it with Google Street view 🙂

  3. Julie,
I was thinking that. It would be really neat to plug in the map for a stage of the TdF and have it show you the video and control the incline, etc. Well…perhaps not so neat on the incline if the stage was in the Alps…
