Clip the WUBEN G6 SPARK to a cap brim, turn it toward a book, and both hands stay free to hold the pages. The adjustable mount is the centerpiece of this small light: it rotates through 90 degrees, with mechanical clicks marking the adjustment positions. On a backpack strap or pocket, the same mechanism lets you change the beam’s direction while leaving the clip attached.

The standard G6 puts a forward beam, a separate side light and a removable folding knife into an aluminum body specified at 8.6 mm thick and 40 grams. It’s currently a Kickstarter project, with estimated reward delivery in January 2027.

Price: About $35 (HK$267 Standard pledge, shipping extra)

Wuben’s product announcement rates the G6 at IP66 (the campaign video says IP67), and it isn’t built for underwater use.

Move the light, leave the keys behind

The push-release keychain attachment lets the G6 come away from your keys. You can keep the keyring in a pocket while moving the light onto a cap or bag strap. That separation is useful when the keys are bulky or when you need the light somewhere other than the spot where you normally carry them.

The spring clip has a specified five-kilogram holding load, with more than 100,000 press cycles reported in the campaign’s durability testing.

A forward beam and a separate task light

The main light adjusts from 1 to 500 lumens, with a specified maximum beam distance of 66 meters. The adjustable output gives you a low setting for close objects and a higher-output option for looking farther ahead. It has a 5000K color temperature and a color-rendering index of 70. Searching a dark storage area and reading a label don’t call for the same amount of light.

Two separate white side LEDs provide up to 100 lumens for nearby work. Their position on the broad face gives the G6 a second lighting surface, useful when you want light across the area immediately beside it. Red and flashing-red modes add signaling options, while a red/blue indicator also communicates power status.

Light-touch controls and charging during use

A low-force mechanical switch provides tactile feedback when pressed. The concealed USB charging port keeps the connection out of the way during ordinary carry, and the internal battery has a specified capacity of 400 mAh.

Rated runtime reaches up to 72 hours in Moon mode. That endurance figure applies to the low-output mode, not the 500-lumen maximum.

The G6 can operate while connected to power. For a stationary task beside a charger, you can leave the side light running rather than put the task aside while it charges.

The battery protections cover overcharging, over-discharge, overcurrent and short circuits. The body has specified one-meter impact resistance.

Remove the knife when you only want the light

A small folding blade sits opposite the clip. It folds into the body when not in use and is intended for light cutting jobs such as opening packaging, slicing tape and cutting cord. The blade uses high-carbon steel with a stonewashed finish.

The entire mini-knife attachment can come off the G6. That is different from simply folding the blade away: you can leave the cutting assembly behind and carry the light on its own. It gives someone who already carries a separate knife a way to avoid bringing a second blade, while keeping the combined setup available for other days.

The blade is replaceable. Keep its work light: it isn’t designed for prying, twisting or cutting hard materials.

Aluminum or titanium, with the same functions

The campaign offers two body materials: CNC-machined 7075 aluminum and stonewashed titanium alloy. Both versions share the lighting, clip and detachable-knife functions.

How it differs from the G5

The WUBEN G5 reviewed by James Cook offers another approach to positioning a compact light: a 180-degree swiveling head, an adjustable clip and a magnetic base. That review also covers its rotary brightness control and the separate switch position that exposes its charging port.

The G6’s defining combination is the slim body, push-release keychain attachment and removable knife. For attaching a light to a steel surface, the G5 offers a magnetic mounting option. If you prefer moving a light from keys to clothing and occasionally need a package-opening blade, the G6’s arrangement is the one to examine.

The G5 is also the easy pick if you’d rather not wait on a Kickstarter, since it’s sold on Amazon now for less than the G6 pledge. It clips to a pocket or strap the same way, but it’s thicker at 15 mm and heavier at 52 grams, tops out at 400 lumens instead of 500, and trades the side light and knife for a swiveling head and an RGB signal light.

Pledges, shipping and delivery

The G6 campaign is scheduled to close November 21. The available Standard x1 reward is HK$267, displayed by Kickstarter as approximately US$35. The earlier HK$235 single-light reward is sold out. The Premium x1 reward was HK$785, approximately US$101 on the site. The currently displayed rewards estimate January 2027 delivery and restrict shipping to selected countries. Shipping payment and color selection take place through a post-campaign survey.

The FAQ estimates shipping at US$8 to $12 per unit, with the final charge confirmed before fulfillment. Shipping is charged separately from the pledge. In its October 21 FAQ, Wuben described pilot production followed by testing and adjustments ahead of the expected January shipment.

The clip is the reason to back the G6. If your light moves between keys, a cap and a bag strap, about $35 gets you a slimmer, more flexible carry than the G5, and the removable knife is a bonus you can leave at home. It’s a crowdfunding pledge, not a retail order, so back it only if a January 2027 delivery works for you. Need a light this week? The G5 is the one to buy.
