Recording videos with a smartphone can quickly turn into a juggling act. You need decent lighting, a secure phone mount, and somewhere to attach a microphone. If you’re filming alone, even starting and stopping a recording can become awkward once everything is positioned.

The Godox Litemons SR20R brings those pieces together in a rectangular RGB ring light designed for smartphones and compact cameras. It combines adjustable lighting, Bluetooth smartphone camera controls, and multiple accessory mounts in one frame, so you can move between handheld recording, tabletop videos, and livestreaming without rebuilding the entire setup.
A Ring Light That Surrounds Your Camera
Overhead lighting can cast shadows beneath your eyes, while a lamp positioned to one side may leave half your face noticeably darker. Ring lights help address this by surrounding the camera with illumination, reducing harsh facial shadows.
The SR20R uses a rectangular design with space in the middle for a smartphone or compatible camera. Godox says this arrangement produces softer facial lighting and natural-looking catchlights in the eyes.
Godox rates the bare light at 1,510 lux at 0.5 meters and 393 lux at one meter, measured at 5600K and 100% brightness. That output should be useful for close-range recording, including talking-head videos, makeup tutorials, and product demonstrations, although results will depend on the ambient light and camera settings.
Because the camera sits inside the lighting frame, the light stays aligned with the lens when you change positions.
Adjustable White Light and Full RGB Color
Different rooms have different lighting conditions. A warm bedroom lamp can make daylight-balanced lighting appear too cool, while mixing window light with artificial lighting can affect how colors look on camera.
The SR20R offers an adjustable 2800K to 6500K color temperature range, along with brightness control from 0% to 100%. It also provides green/magenta adjustment for matching the light to other sources.
Godox specifies CRI and TLCI ratings of approximately 96, indicating the light’s intended color-rendering performance. That matters when recording faces, clothing, cosmetics, or products where accurate-looking colors are important.
The SR20R also supports RGB lighting, allowing creators to introduce colored illumination without adding another light.
There are 14 built-in lighting effects, including candlelight, lightning, fireworks, and television flicker. These give creators options for adding atmosphere to videos or product shots without setting up additional effects equipment.
Bluetooth Controls for Smartphone Cameras
The SR20R includes Bluetooth controls for operating supported smartphone camera functions directly from the light.
According to Godox, users can take photos, start and stop video, adjust zoom, switch between front and rear cameras, and change supported shooting modes. Focus lock is available in photo mode only. Bluetooth operation is rated for distances up to 10 meters.
Godox instructs iPhone users to enable Settings → Accessibility → Zoom before using the camera controls. Available shooting modes depend on the phone.
Android users with NFC-enabled phones can use NFC-assisted pairing. This simplifies the pairing process; the camera controls still use Bluetooth.
That makes checking phone compatibility worthwhile, particularly if Bluetooth control is one of the main reasons you’re considering the SR20R.
Multiple Mounting Options for Different Cameras
The SR20R includes a smartphone holder and a sliding 1/4-inch camera adapter, allowing compatible devices to sit within the lighting frame.
It supports horizontal and vertical recording, making it suitable for YouTube videos, livestreams, Instagram Reels, and TikTok content.
Three 1/4-inch threaded mounting points allow the SR20R to connect to compatible tripods and stands. Built-in kickstands provide another option for tabletop recording, where a separate stand may not be necessary.
Godox also includes three cold shoe mounts for accessories such as microphones, wireless receivers, and compact lights.
Action cameras and some gimbal cameras may require additional adapters, depending on their mounting systems.
Rechargeable Battery and USB-C Power
The SR20R has a built-in 7.26V, 4800mAh battery, rated at 34.848Wh. Godox specifies approximately 90 minutes of operation at maximum brightness, with USB-C charging taking around two hours and 20 minutes.
The light also supports operation while connected to external USB-C power, which is useful for longer recording sessions. A charging cable is included, but the power adapter is sold separately.
Godox instructs users to connect the SR20R to power for three seconds before first use to activate the device.
The unit measures 290 × 220 × 40mm (width × height × depth) and weighs approximately 623 grams without accessories. It can be carried for handheld filming, although the frame will occupy more bag space than a small LED panel.
Price and Who It’s For
The Godox Litemons SR20R is available from Adorama for $89.
The SR20R is aimed at vloggers, livestreamers, product reviewers, and small-business owners who regularly record using a smartphone or compact camera. The built-in lighting, Bluetooth controls, and accessory mounts could make it useful for people who handle their own recording setup.
The main tradeoffs are its size, the approximately 90-minute battery runtime at maximum brightness, and the need to confirm Bluetooth compatibility with your phone. Godox’s manual states that the SR20R is not waterproof or dustproof and advises against use in rain, high humidity, or dusty environments.
For creators who regularly switch between handheld videos and tabletop recording, the SR20R provides a way to keep the camera, light, and an optional microphone mounted together. That could mean less time rearranging equipment between shots.
