The new Seiko Presage Cocktail Time HCB004 and HCB005 address that by bringing GMT functionality to one of Seiko’s dressier collections. Both use the same automatic movement and nearly identical dimensions, but their finishes push them in very different directions.
That means the decision is less about specifications and more about whether you want an all-gold bracelet watch or a blue-and-rose-gold model on leather.
The shared specs make the choice easier
Both watches use Seiko’s 4R34 automatic movement with manual winding, 24 jewels, a 24-hour hand for dual-time display, stop-seconds, a date display, and approximately 41 hours of power reserve.
The cases also share the same dimensions: 40.5mm in diameter, 12.8mm thick, and 47.5mm lug to lug. Both have stainless-steel cases, 20mm lug spacing, a box-shaped Hardlex crystal, a see-through screw caseback, 5-bar water resistance, and magnetic resistance rated at 4,800 A/m.
Neither holds a meaningful technical advantage over the other. The practical differences come down to the bracelet, leather strap, and overall color treatment.
HCB004 goes for a brighter, dressier look
The HCB004 takes inspiration from the Daiquiri cocktail. It pairs a light cream-to-champagne dial with a gold-colored stainless-steel case and matching bracelet, creating a much brighter look than most GMT watches.
That makes the HCB004 the more visually assertive of the two despite its lighter dial. It is not a restrained silver dress watch. The gold-colored case, bracelet, hands, and markers give it a strong, jewelry-like presence.

That is the main reason these models stand out. The GMT hand and 24-hour scale add practical dual-time functionality without turning either watch into a bezel-heavy sports model.
There is still a practical compromise. Box-shaped Hardlex is not sapphire, and 5-bar water resistance places these firmly in everyday dress-watch territory rather than swimming or outdoor-tool territory.
The 4R34 is also a mainstream Seiko automatic movement rather than one of the company’s higher-end calibers. The appeal here is the combination of useful GMT functionality and Cocktail Time presentation, not movement exclusivity.

Choose the HCB004 if you want the brighter, more extroverted option. Its gold-colored bracelet and light dial give it considerably more visual presence, making it the better fit for someone who wants a watch that can also serve as a piece of jewelry.
