The 7,500mAh battery is the everyday headline
Camera features feature prominently in Vivo’s launch material, but the 7,500mAh battery may have the bigger day-to-day impact. Vivo uses a single-cell design with a rated capacity of 7,270mAh and promotes its fifth-generation silicon-anode technology, including claims about endurance and low-temperature performance.
Those benefits come from Vivo’s testing rather than independent reviews, but the battery capacity itself is confirmed in the official specifications. Charging is rated at up to 90W wired and 40W wireless; actual charging time will vary with temperature, charger compatibility, and other conditions.
For people who regularly rely on navigation, cameras, mobile data, video, and gaming, the practical advantage is straightforward: more capacity available before it is time to find a charger.
Vivo keeps a serious triple-camera system
The regular X500 does not get the 200MP telephoto found on the X500 Pro Max, but its camera hardware is hardly basic. It includes a 50MP main camera with an f/1.68 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 64MP Zeiss APO telephoto with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. A 50MP camera handles selfies and video calls.
The telephoto gives the X500 dedicated optical hardware for portraits and distant subjects instead of depending primarily on digital cropping. Vivo also supports the optional Zeiss Teleconverter G2, which can create a 200mm-equivalent shooting setup, although that accessory is sold separately.
Vivo makes extensive promises around portraits, stage photography, dynamic range, and cinematic-looking images. Those statements explain what the camera system is designed to do, but independent testing is still needed before its image quality can be meaningfully compared with rival flagships.
Video and display hardware stay flagship-level
Vivo is also targeting people who shoot video. Its official material promotes cinematic shooting modes, Live Moments, high-resolution video features, and 8K native Live capture, alongside AI-assisted editing tools. Specifications cannot tell us how well stabilization, autofocus, microphones, heat management, and image processing perform, so those areas still need real-world testing.
Around the front is a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 2750 x 1260 resolution and support for 30, 60, 90, 120, and 144Hz refresh rates. Vivo calls it a Zeiss Master Color Display and makes several claims about color performance. The X500 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M, an eight-core processor built on a 3nm process. The Chinese model runs OriginOS 7 and comes with 12GB of RAM regardless of the storage configuration.
Vivo promotes high-frame-rate gaming, multitasking, and frame-generation features, but launch specifications alone cannot establish sustained performance. Independent benchmarks and extended gaming tests will be more useful for evaluating temperatures, throttling, gaming consistency, and power efficiency.
Despite the large battery, Vivo lists the X500 at 8.15mm thick. It measures 157.01mm tall and 74.49mm wide, while weight varies slightly by finish from about 211g to 213g. That does not make it a lightweight phone, but it puts the 7,500mAh capacity into perspective. Vivo has fitted a very large battery into dimensions that remain fairly conventional for a modern flagship rather than creating an obviously bulky battery phone.
Who should consider the Vivo X500?
The Vivo X500 makes the strongest case for buyers who want unusually large battery capacity and serious zoom hardware in the same flagship. Its 7,500mAh battery should appeal to people who spend long days taking photos and video away from a charger, while the 64MP telephoto, OIS-equipped main camera, 144Hz AMOLED display, and 40W wireless charging keep it from feeling like a battery-focused phone with compromises everywhere else.
