OPPO Reno 16 Series

OPPO has put a date on the Reno 16 series, and it’s closer than most rumor threads expected. The brand has confirmed a May 25, 2026 launch event in China at 6 PM local time, with two phones already locked in for day one and at least two more variants lining up behind them for other markets.

Price: TBD (Chinese yuan pricing not announced; India aggregators expect ₹33,990 to ₹69,990)
Where to Buy: OPPO China (May 25 launch); global rollout expected July to August

Per aggregated leaks, the headline specs are a 200MP main camera across the lineup, a 7,000mAh battery on the Pro, a Dimensity 9500s on the Pro, and the arrival of OPPO’s Snap Key shortcut button on the Reno line after debuting on the Find X9 series. A separate smart secondary display feature is reportedly branded “OPPO Bubble” for the lineup. None of the Reno 16-specific specifications have been confirmed by OPPO yet.

What’s Launching on May 25

The initial lineup is the Reno 16 and the Reno 16 Pro for the Chinese market. Pre-reservations are already open on OPPO’s Chinese site, and the brand has been teasing renders and colorways on Weibo for the last two weeks. Leaks also point to the OPPO Pad 6 tablet and Enco Air 5s earbuds sharing the May 25 event. Per the May 19 official-render set, the Reno 16 Pro colorways teased so far include Heartbeat Star, Dream Blue, and Midnight Black.OPPO Reno 16 Series

Regulatory listings strengthen the case for a wider Reno 16 family. The Reno 16 Pro has cleared Indonesia’s TDRA, Europe’s EEC, and India’s BIS certifications under model number CPH2863. Per leaks, the Reno 16C and the Reno 16 Pro Mini are expected to launch later as staggered follow-ons for India and other markets rather than as May 25 day-one variants.

There’s no US release in the picture. OPPO doesn’t formally distribute the Reno line through US carriers, and the brand has not announced any change to that distribution for this generation. A global rollout for the Reno 16 Pro is expected between July and August, per tipster reports. OPPO has not announced Philippines dates, though leaks tip Indonesia for a June rollout.

Cameras: 200MP Across the Board

Per aggregated leaks, OPPO is reported to put the same 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 main sensor on both the standard Reno 16 and the Reno 16 Pro, paired with a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS. Tipster aggregation flags the same triple-camera setup ahead of OPPO’s May 18 launch confirmation, slotting the Reno 16 lineup into the still-narrow group of 200MP smartphones in 2026. The same source set credits both phones with a 50MP front camera, though OPPO has not confirmed any of these specifications yet.OPPO Reno 16 Series

Compared against the Reno 15 Pro’s camera module, a 50MP periscope telephoto at this tier would be a step up from the standard telephoto on the previous Pro. The 200MP sensor model number, the periscope focal length, and the zoom range remain unconfirmed until OPPO’s May 25 event materials go live.

Power, Screens, and the Snap Key

The OPPO Reno 16 Pro is reported to pair a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s with a 6.78 inch 1.5K 120Hz flat OLED, a 7,000mAh battery, and 80W wired charging plus 50W wireless. The Pro’s LTPO panel should also help wring more runtime out of the 7,000mAh cell. Leaks describe the loadout as a clear upgrade over the Reno 15 Pro, which is listed with a Dimensity 8450 and a 6,500mAh battery.OPPO Reno 16 Series

The standard Reno 16, per the same source set, is said to use a smaller 6.32 inch 1.5K 120Hz flat OLED, a Dimensity 8550, and a 6,700mAh battery with 80W wired charging and no wireless. The 8550 figure has converged across multiple tipster reports, but OPPO has not yet confirmed chip, panel, or charging details for either phone.

Both phones are reported to carry a metal frame, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and the Snap Key, OPPO’s dedicated shortcut button that already ships on the Find X9 series. Per OPPO’s official ColorOS 16 page, tapping the Snap Key captures voice memos, text, and images and routes them into AI Mind Space for organized recall, with user-reprogrammable functions in settings. Reno 16-specific function tweaks remain unconfirmed until OPPO’s May 25 event materials go live.OPPO Reno 16 Series

Pricing and Where to Buy

Per a Weibo tipster surfaced in May 12 coverage, the Reno 16 Pro is positioned in a CNY 4,000 to 5,000 range, roughly ₹54,700 to ₹68,900. Indian retail aggregators have posted their own expected numbers ahead of launch: the Reno 16 5G at an expected ₹47,999 and the Reno 16 Pro 5G at ₹69,990. A separate aggregator pegs the base Reno 16 lower, at an expected ₹33,990. Final yuan pricing will be confirmed at OPPO’s May 25 event.

A global rollout for the Reno 16 Pro is expected between July and August, according to a tipster. OPPO does not formally distribute the Reno line in the US, and the brand has not announced US availability for the Reno 16 series.

What’s Next

OPPO’s official launch event is scheduled for May 25, 2026 at 6 PM local time in China. Pre-reservations are already open on OPPO’s Chinese site. Final Chinese yuan pricing, confirmed camera specifications, and global release timing are expected during and after the event.

A tipster expects the global Reno 16 Pro rollout to follow in July or August. That window lands roughly six months after the global Reno 15 Pro, which debuted in January 2026.

Philippines launch windows have not been announced. Leaks separately point to an Indonesian rollout window of June, and an India launch expected in June or July. That would put parts of the regional release ahead of the July to August global window.
