Design and features

This power bank has a lot of features that are pretty great. It of course has the ability to charge via the integrated USB-C and Lightning cable. The cables nest nicely into the body of the power bank.

It also has a magnetic wireless charging option for watches, earbuds, phones and other devices with that option.

One of the things I like the most about this is that it plugs directly into an outlet to charge. It also has extra plug adapters you can purchase for the EU and UK as it can handle 100 to 240V, so it would make for a decent travel option as well.

The part of the power bank that plugs into the wall also is detachable in case size is a concern when carrying this around. It’s not a huge addition, so I prefer leaving it on so I can charge it back up easily when I need to.

There are two built-in kickstands available if you need. This comes in handy for the magnetic charging when you’re charging a watch.

Performance

Being only 10000 mAh, depending on the device you may not get much more than a single full charge if you’re using this on a smartphone. I let my Pixel 9 get down to about 7 percent one day to see how long it would take to get back up to 100 percent using this charger and the built-in cable.

The charging kicked in quickly and took about 2 hours to get to 100%.  That took the charge on the battery from 100% down to 13%. The timing on things is a little difficult to gauge because my phone switched to Adaptive Charging since it was in the evening at that point. Adaptive Charging slows down the charge to help improve the battery life, but it’s kind of a pain if you’re looking for a fast charge later in the day.

The power bank without the plug adapter attached. Save a little space, but not a big deal for me.

Final thoughts

Overall, I really like this charger. For me, a power bank is primarily a backup for when I’m not able to charge normally or when I’m doing more intensive things that have been draining the battery. I love the included cables and the plug. It’s just a well-designed all-in-one charging solution. I definitely recommend!

What I like about the Ark Power Bank Max

  • Integrated wall plug
  • Included charging cables and magnetic wireless charging
  • All-in-one charging solution

What needs to be improved?

  • I think a 20k mAh option would be nice, but that’s a very minor criticism
