Design and features
The design and size of the Yofidra Electric Tiller is similar to an electric grass trimmer or edger, if you’ve used one of those before. It only weighs 11 pounds and is easy to carry around the yard. It has 2 sets of manganese steel tines to churn up the soil at a rate of 360 revolutions per minute.
Assembly
Assembly wasn’t too difficult, just took a bit to make sure everything lined up right and some intuition because the included instructions weren’t super helpful. The handle and the next piece connect together and you just need to make sure that the inside grooves line up together.
After connecting the pieces, the plastic sleeve screws together to hold everything tight. Make sure that the pieces are snugly connected all the way or the sleeve won’t connect and screw down. There are two connections like this.
The actual tiller head has an additional shield that snaps into place. There is one additional screw provided to hold it in place at the rear of the tiller head.
Don’t overtighten. It’s still just plastic.
Installing the tines to the tiller is simple. You slide them on to the shaft and they’re held in place with a cotter pin.
Cotter pin in place.
Charging the batteries took me a minute to figure out. There isn’t a charging base like what I’m used to with other power tools. There is just a charger and cable that plugs into the underside of the battery. Not my favorite setup and it took me a minute to find it because the manual did not help at all here.
Different view of the battery port and cable, for those trying to figure this one out.

Performance
I was a little skeptical of this tiller because the batteries are on the smaller side, so I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much power it put out. The handle is comfortable to use at the angle and the lock out is well placed to the trigger.
I have a flower bed that has been getting a bit overgrown recently and the tiller did a good job of churning the soil up.
I have a bunch of bindweed that the tiller did a decent job of ripping up, but the tines definitely got wrapped up with the vines.
Video sample of the tiller running. This was all in pretty soft soil.
In harder soil, the tiller takes a bit more effort to churn things up and requires additional force to push through things.
Final thoughts
Overall, I really like this little tiller. The battery life seems to be great for projects around the house and turning things over. It’s not a deep tiller, but I see this being something I use heavily in the spring prepping the raised beds. I definitely recommend it.
