Airseekers Tron Rev 0070

REVIEW – I hate mowing lawns. Always have, always will. Mainly due to my seasonal allergies, but also because I feel like it’s a never-ending, futile battle against nature. These days, I’m responsible for keeping up my mom’s large, often overgrown property here in the Pacific Northwest, where the grass doesn’t just grow—it thrives, wildly and relentlessly. So, when I got the chance to review the Airseekers Tron 2400 Robotic Lawn Mower, I didn’t hesitate. I was genuinely excited to see if a robotic mower could actually take some, if not all, of that weight off my shoulders.

The Tron 2400 is a high-end unit, priced at a staggering $2,099, and packed with some impressive tech to justify its hefty price tag. It boasts pretty solid performance for large yards, offering hours of runtime on a single charge. I’ve been putting it to work for the past few weeks to see how well that promise holds up under real-world conditions—thick PNW grass, uneven terrain, and the occasional monster gopher hole.

What is it?

The Airseekers Tron 2400 is a robotic lawn mower with 360° AI vision, built-in GPS, and a six-blade mulching system. It can handle 65% (33°) slopes and mow up to 15 acres (600 m²) on a single charge with a runtime of up to three hours. Its maximum mowing capacity is a little more than half an acre (2,400 m²). The Tron uses Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) satellite positioning along with VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) to stay on track if its GPS signal weakens.

Design and features

The Tron 2400 looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie. The curved surfaces, exposed framework, and unique-looking tires all contribute to the “robot from the future” aesthetic. Wisely, all these surface features serve a function.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0076

Most of the Tron 2400’s chassis is made of gray textured plastic. It has an IPX6 rating, which means it can get wet or be hosed off without worry. The top panel of the Tron reveals the LED light ring, which communicates system status. There’s also a large warning label with the basic functions of the Tron’s buttons listed.

The onboard controls are minimal, there’s a large emergency Stop button, a Power button, a Work button, and a Return to Charge button. These all let you manually start, pause, or shut down the mower without relying on your phone. Although, in my experience, the power button took several tries to start up the mower every time I used it.

There are six cameras in total on the Tron. Two “eyes” peek out under a small plastic hood on the front; these provide the Tron with depth perception. Atop those is a single front-facing camera, which has additional cameras on either side.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0080

These top cameras provide the Tron with a wide-angle view of its surroundings. There are two tiny metal nubs behind the top cameras that function as a rain detector.

The Tron’s front tires have an interesting look and functionality. They are permanently angled inward at 30° and consist of six segmented sections that roll independently as the mower turns. There’s a large extended bumper that wraps partly around the wheels to protect them.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0082

With no power to the front wheels and the innovative segmented design, the Tron is able to make tight turns without putting any pressure on the grass.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0096

The mobility of the Tron comes from its dual rear-hub motors and heavy-duty traction wheels. The large alternating fins of the rear wheels definitely helped it navigate our uneven yard, and it was rare that the Tron got stuck and needed my help. With tires as big as this, it’s easy to use the Tron on higher lengths of grass. You can app-adjust its cutting height from 30 mm to 90 mm depending on your needs.

Underneath the Tron, I was astounded to find not a large single mower blade, as I expected, but six small razor blades mounted on a rotating wheel.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0086

The six blades have sharp edges on both sides and are screwed into the wheel, but they can swing around independently. Each blade has a matching blade set right behind it.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0085

This is the FlowCut mulching system, a feature Airseekers highlights as a main benefit of the Tron. The mulching chamber uses suction and the small multi-pass blades to finely shred the grass, eliminating the task of emptying a bulky bag of clippings—yet one more hated mowing chore I can avoid!

Airseekers Tron Rev 0089

There are a set of fins at the front of the Tron, and just underneath those is a large hidden fan blade that provides the suction for the FlowCut system.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0091

There’s also a small rubber mudguard located in front of the fins to keep mud from mucking up the system.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0087

More fins, large and small, are affixed to the rear of the Tron.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0090

On both sides of the mulching chamber, there are protective bars and a plastic blade shield to prevent any damage to the fan or spinning blade wheel.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0094

The exposed framework of the Tron makes it easy to carry when the need arises to rescue it.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0095

There’s a large dedicated carrying handle on the rear of the Tron as well.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0097

The last of the six cameras faces out from the rear of the Tron and sits between the latches for the removable lithium battery compartment. Below that are two charging contact plates.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0098

The rear camera guides the Tron into its dock. The charging plates make contact with two protruding posts, which provide power to the battery.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0099

The charging dock is made of the same gray textured plastic used for the Tron’s body. There are two wheel wells for the Tron’s tires to sit in and a small QR code to help the unit find its way home.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0101

On the rear of the charging dock, there’s a small cable compartment. These cables power both the charging dock and the RTK module, which guides the Tron.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0103

The RTK module sits atop a short pole, and a small antenna is attached to the underside of the unit.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0119

Assembly, Installation, Setup

There isn’t much assembly required for the Tron. The most involved process is putting together the RTK base and pole.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0106

There are two pole sections which need to be connected. Then the wire for the RTK module needs to be passed through the inside of the poles.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0107

Once the cable is run through the pole it has to be secured with the pole’s endcap.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0108

This endcap screws securely in place and provides a mounting point for the RTK’s stakes.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0109

This three pronged stake will hold the RTK module firmly in place so it can maintain contact with the Tron.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0111

Both the charging dock and the RTK module are powered by the same power supply. Although you do have the option of connecting the RTK module to a power source by itself. I was not able to do that because Airseekers only provides one U.S. power adapter and two would be needed for this configuration.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0115

I had no problem staking the RTK module into the ground and it stayed in place without any issue.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0125

The charging dock is held in place by four plastic long screws which drive deep into the ground for support.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0117

Pairing the mower via Bluetooth was seamless. Airseekers has a well-designed app that helps with the pairing as well as downloading firmware updates.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0159

Once connected, the app prompted me to define the mowing zone, select cutting heights, and create no-go areas. Mapping the property was fun, like driving a very slow remote-controlled car with my phone. The app does a great job hand-holding you through each step.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0123

Performance

With the yard boundaries mapped, the RTK module and charging dock in place, and the unit fully charged, I was finally ready to let the Tron 2400 do its thing.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0104

Like I’ve said before, my mom’s lawn is no joke. This is thick PNW grass, and I was a bit concerned that the Tron wouldn’t be able to handle it.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0124

I set the cutting height pretty high to give the Tron a bit of an advantage and started the mowing sequence from the app.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0158

The Tron slowly pulled out of the dock and got to work.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0129

The Tron works efficiently and quietly. At ≤ 60 dB, it’s quieter than a normal conversation. Although, every time the unit starts and stops its blades, there’s a fairly loud beeping. It’s not loud enough to annoy your neighbors, but you definitely can hear it from further away. Sort of like the sound of a large truck backing up.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0128

The Tron worked diligently on the yard and reminded me very much of how a Roomba works. It ambled around with seemingly no clear direction, but eventually, the whole yard was mowed.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0127

The cameras, GPS, and AI worked really well at avoiding obstacles and my mom’s inquisitive pup, Rosey.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0133

The Tron climbed effortlessly up small slopes, though soft dirt was a bit of a problem at times.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0160

The app was great for letting me know where the Tron was at all times, even though I was sure to keep it in sight from my resting spot on the deck.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0162

As time went on, I could see in great detail how much of the yard was mowed and how much remained.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0136

The Tron surprised me several times by going back to get spots I was sure it had missed for good.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0164

All the green gaps were eventually covered by the Tron, once the initial mowing was complete.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0134

With each pass, the lawn looked tidier and tidier.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0148

By the time the Tron 2400 was finished and backing itself into the charging dock the lawn looked better than it had in months.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0165

At just slightly over an hour, the Tron had completely mowed the yard, an area of about 87m², and it still had 68% left in its battery.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0140

Despite all its hard work, the Tron was only slightly dirty. A quick hose off easily took care of that.

Airseekers Tron Rev 0126

Where the Tron truly shined, though, was in maintenance mode. After the initial hard mow, keeping the lawn pristine became almost boring. I set a schedule for three times a week, poured myself some cold iced tea, and watched the Tron go to work. I did manually trim the edges around the yard, but overall, the Tron worked well.

Final thoughts

After a few weeks of testing, I can say the Airseekers Tron 2400 lawn mower actually did what I was hoping it would. It gave me a break from the grind of mowing, especially on a lawn as unruly as my mom’s. It’s not flawless, though. The startup process can be a little touchy, and it doesn’t handle edges or tight corners very well without getting stuck. But once it’s running, it covers a lot of ground with minimal supervision, even across uneven terrain and thick patches of grass that would usually bog down a traditional mower.

At $2,099, it’s definitely a premium product and not something I’d call “affordable.” But for me, it’s not about convenience—it’s about relief. I hate mowing. I’ve got allergies, a big property to maintain, and not enough time. The Tron doesn’t solve everything, but it takes a major chore off my list. If your situation is like mine, the Airseekers Tron 2400 might be worth considering.
