REVIEW – In 2023, I tested and reviewed the Waterdrop WD-A1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System. Although I loved the system, I had no idea that it would become the go-to source of drinking water in my home and that the kids would use it so much that they behaved like they could not do without it. We still use that system in my house today, so I jumped at the opportunity to review this new Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System.

The Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System is a hot and cold RO system that provides portable pure drinking water and immediate access to potable water via the Pure Water Tank. It features 6 Temperature Settings, hot, cold, and room temperature water, and a 3:1 Pure to Drain water ratio.

The Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System is a compact device featuring a sleek and modern design that will work with the ambiance of any décor. It measures 15.9 inches x 8.2 inches x 15.7 inches and weighs 22.05 pounds. On the front, is a bright LED smart touch control screen, and below under the water dispenser, is a removable magnetic drip tray. The system also features a portable pure water tank with a capacity of 159 oz.

Assembly, Installation, Setup

The Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System does not require much of a physical setup to get started. Once you insert the filter and add water to the reservoir, the next step is the plug it in and follow the instructions to flush the system before the first use. Performance

The Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis system combines advanced purification technology with user-friendly features. It features a 5-stage filtration process and dispenses hot, cold, and room temperature water, within a range of approximately 50 degrees F to 203 degrees F. The manufacturer says it can go as low as 50 degrees, but in my testing, it stopped at 51 degrees at the lowest. That is close enough. The touch control LED screen allows me to customize temperature and volume settings easily, and the option to store one favorite setting for repeated use. The display also shows TDS levels and filter life.
Installing the WD-A2 is simple and does not require significant effort. It does require patience. Waterdrop states that it takes less than 30 minutes to set up, but it took me almost double that time. (see video above). I like that there is only one filter, as opposed to the two required for the WD-A1 system. The filter in the WD-A2 only needs replacement every 12 months.
The Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis system provides clean, great-tasting water. If you are an Ecoholic like me, it means a great deal to me that it also contributes to a reduction in plastic waste.

Final thoughts

The Waterdrop WD-A2 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System is a nice update to the WD-A1. Its updated features include a single replaceable filter and a pure water tank. The touch panel is also updated. As usual, the water tastes great.
