NEWS – The Daggerfish handreel fishing “pole” is an ingenious and versatile tool that every camper, prepper, and minimalist angler should consider adding to their kit. This compact and lightweight fishing system combines a rod, reel, and tackle box into one handcrafted package, making it ideal for those who value simplicity and portability.
Compact and Lightweight Design
Weighing less than 4 ounces, the handreel fishing kit is a true featherweight champion. Available in maple, cherry or walnut, it is beautifully crafted, adding a touch of elegance to your outdoor adventures. Its compact size allows you to easily tuck it into your backpack, luggage, or even a large pocket, ensuring that you’re always prepared for impromptu fishing opportunities.
All-in-One Fishing Solution
One of the standout features of this fishing pole is its all-inclusive design. It comes equipped with a lead-free tackle kit, including hooks, sinkers, and lures, neatly stored within the hollow body of the reel. Additionally, it includes 30 yards of low-memory monofilament line (8lb test), ensuring you’re ready to cast right out of the box.
Handlining: A Minimalist Approach
The Daggerfish handreel fishing pole embraces the art of handlining, a simple and minimalist fishing style that requires no reel or complicated equipment. Tie on a lure, cast out by hand, and reel back in by hand – it’s as easy as that. This straightforward approach makes it an excellent choice for first-time anglers and experienced fishermen alike, allowing them to focus on the essence of the sport without the clutter of excessive gear.
Whether you’re a camper seeking a lightweight and compact fishing solution, a prepper preparing for any eventuality, or an angler who values simplicity and minimalism, a handreel from Daggerfish Gear is an outstanding choice. Its versatility, durability, and handcrafted quality make it a must-have addition to any outdoor enthusiast’s arsenal.

Did you even use this? Did you catch the trout pictured? I’m skeptical of this whole thing, even though homemade versions have been around for centuries. Seems bad form to review something and not mention how it performed, any complaints or positives you have with it, etc. I like this site because I feel, in general, I get actual comments from someone who tried an item out; often useful and detailed information. I don’t feel this lives up to that standard.
Marty, this wasn’t a review. It was just a news post about a product that I found and thought that our readers would be interested in knowing about. It clearly is marked as NEWS as the first word in the article. Reviews have the word “review” in the title as well the first word REVIEW in the article.
My apologies. I didn’t see that. I love this site and visit here frequently but had not caught on that news/reviews were different categories. In hindsight, it’s obvious to me that’s how it is/has been. Thanks for correcting me and, again, please accept my apologies. Keep up the good work!
