NEWS – Amazon’s newest Fire Tablet, the Fire HD 10, is on sale for $104.99. Other models also seem to be discounted. The 3GB RAM should be sufficient for browsing, reading, streaming and light gaming and it has 64GB of storage. If you don’t need to add a lot of apps the 32GB version is $94.99.
Amazon tablets are a great way to get a well made Android tablet. The Fire HD 10 and all the current and previous Fire tablets can run the Google Play Store and Android apps if you’re willing to go under the hood a bit by following these directions by Android Police.
Adding the Play Store doesn’t change the Amazon-esque character of the Fire Tablets, it just enables the running of Android apps on it.
Amazon is working on a proprietary OS, so the future of running Android apps is uncertain, but for now, this is a current hardware release that will run Android apps just fine.
