REVIEW – Last year I tested and reviewed a countertop water filter system that has now become a daily usage appliance in my home. We went from buying cases of water monthly to buying one case every 2 months. In my basement, I have a media space and a bar where we entertain. On the bar, I also have a Bartesian Cocktail Maker that uses pure water as a part of its mixing process. Accepting the opportunity to test and review this SimPure Y7P-BW Upgraded Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Dispenser was a no-brainer.
What is it?
The SimPure Upgraded Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Dispenser is an advanced UV countertop water purifier dispenser that emits zero by-products or chemicals while effectively disinfecting and treating 99.9% of viruses, germs, and bacteria. Design and features
The SimPure Y7P-BW Upgraded Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Dispenser is made mostly of plastic/ABS and features a touch panel on the top front and a plastic water feeder tank that sits on the back. There is a cover that clicks over the tank. In between the water feed tank and the machine is where the two filters are installed. There is a drip tray that sits in front of the device and under the water spout to catch any dripping water.
Preparation and Performance
Before using the SimPure Y7P-BW Upgraded Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Dispenser, I washed out and filled up the feed water tank to the “Max” level. The next step was to go through the flushing process as per the instruction manual.
Once I plugged in the device, the front touch panel lit up. I then followed the user manual to go through the flushing process.
The following screenshot is from the stopwatch on my phone and represents the time it took for one complete cycle of the flushing process:
Here is some information from the manufacturer’s website:
The manual states that the flushing process should be completed between 3 to 5 times. I decided to go through the process a maximum of 5 times. The flushing process is very easy and each cycle of all of the stages takes about 15 minutes. Once I was done, I tested the taste of the water and it was good, and I also tested to see if it dispenses accurately. It also passed that test. It is a very nice machine albeit you cannot get hot or cold water from it. The water is at room temperature. The following video shows my experience with the flushing process and the performance testing:
What I like
- The nice sleek design
- The compact countertop size
- The length of time the filters last
- The taste of the filtered water
What I’d change
- It does not produce hot or cold water.
- The labels on the touch panel should be outlined so they are visible even when not in use
Final thoughts
The SimPure Y7P-BW Upgraded Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Dispenser is a nice-looking device that produces nice-tasting water. The affordable long-lasting filters are great since other systems that I have tried have filters that last only 30 days. I do wish I could get a glass of cold water from it as opposed to room temperature, but this is still a really nice water filter and dispenser.
