CROWDFUNDING NEWS – We all like to procrastinate when we really should be trying to get our work done, but how would you like an easy-to-use battery-powered timer to be more productive without using an app on your phone or computer? If you never thought a timer could be cool, you need to check out the Ticktime Cube timer.

What is it?

The Ticktime Cube is the new version of the original Ticktime productivity timer that was introduced back in 2020 on Indiegogo as a successful crowdfunding campaign with pledges of over $481,000.

Why do I like it?

The Ticktime Cube has new and improved features that include:

  • Clearer and bigger display
  • Tap Control
  • Pause and resume the countdown
  • Multiple countdown duration (Max. 6x) by tapping
  • Memorize the last countdown setting
  • Long press for 15/25/45/60 minutes countdown
  • New Vibration mode
  • Pomodoro technique countdown
  • Timing display

The folks behind Ticktime Cube timer sent me a pre-production sample to check out and I have to say that I like the new cube shape compared to the original version.

This little cube-shaped timer has all your timer needs covered and then some! If you want to set a timer for 1, 3, 5, or 10 minute, you just put the side of the timer with the desired number facing up and the timer will start a countdown. If you want to customize the time, no sweat. There are buttons on the top to set the timer by minutes and even down to the seconds. If you need more time, you can tap the fingerprint icon on the timer to add an extra 1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes to the time depending on which side is facing up.

The Ticktime can also be used for the Pomodoro Technique which is basically a 30 minute block of time. Work for 25 minutes and then do whatever you want for 5 minutes. It’s kind of like a reward for doing work for 25 minutes.

Where can I find more info?

The Ticktime Cube campaign ends on 12/02/22 and they have already easily met their funding goal. You can pre-order a Ticktime Cube starting at $32. After the Ticktime Cube campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in December 2022. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

  2. Thanks for reviewing this – it has many features I haven’t been able to get all in one timer. Just pledged for 2!

Note to pledgers: this will charge to your card in HK dollars, so if you have a payment method that does not charge you a fee for charges outside of your home currency (I have a CC with this feature) use that.

  3. I pledged and bought the original Ticktime timer device and use it regularly, it lived up to the hype from their original campaign. I expect this one will do the same, so I have also pledged for one of the earlybird devices. I think the normal price is probably a bit steep for most consumers but if you can get in on an early deal and need a multi-function and aesthetic timer, this is a great solution.

  4. Followup: I received my two Ticktimes 2 months ago, and I really love them! I was pleasantly surprised at their size, which was much smaller than I had expected from the photos and similar timer cubes I’d used before (4 CM/ 1.6″ square). Their adjustable alarm volume and short “beep” lets me use them in the office cubicle area without disturbing anyone.
