NEWS – Sonnet Technologies, maker of many Mac and PC accessories, has released their newest dock, the Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock, which features a modest number of USB-A and USB-C connectors, but adds in dual NVMe drive storage slots to add up to 16 TB of fast SSD storage to your Thunderbolt-equipped computer.
The Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock features two 10 Gbps USB-C connectors, a 10 Gbps USB-A port, and a Thunderbolt peripheral port on the front, and an upstream Thunderbolt port for connection to a computer as well as a 10 Gbps USB-A connector and 12V, 8A power connector on the back. There is also a Kensington lock slot on the back for security.
The NVMe slots support up to 8 TB each for up to 16 TB total and can be configured as separate drives or set up in RAID 0 for up to 3,000 MB/s transfer speeds. The dock Includes a Thunderbolt cable and Sonnet’s ThunderLok 3 to help keep the Thunderbolt cable in place.
The Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock supports up to a 5K display through either Thunderbolt or USB-C and can connect to HDMI or DisplayPort monitors with optional adapters. The upstream Thunderbolt port only supplies 15W so all but the smallest laptops will need external power.
Sonnet’s Echo Dual NVMe Thunderbolt Dock is available now for $349.99. Learn more and purchase today at sonnettech.com.
