The September 18th issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine will include the first ever video in print advertisement. The video, made possible by technology from the Los Angeles based company Americhip, will include promotions for the upcoming CBS fall season. The video in print ad will only be included in magazines to subscribers in the New York and Los Angeles areas. With this new technology the possibilities for embedded video in all kinds of everyday items are endless.

Wait a minute.. I just received my Entertainment Weekly, Sep 18 2009 issue. It was the same old magazine, there was no special tiny screen ads. I live in Los Angeles too.. What gives?
I just got my EW today too, and no video either. Looks like we are not the only ones. There are several other EW subscribers in LA who did not get it. Booo!!!! Did ANYONE get it????
I saw one poster on CNET says he got the video ads, but it doesn’t work. I wonder why the different treatment.. ;( I actually subed to Entertainment Weekly right after your post.. 😀
