If you are someone who loves to play games and who has a hard time getting off the couch, perhaps you should look into the Omni Kickstarter project by Virtuix. It may look odd from the outside, but its specialized shoe sole alongside of the tracking software allows you to walk, jump, crouch, strafe, or run around in any game that uses a keyboard. The included software allows you to transform WASD along with other key combinations to an action you perform on the Omni. Imagine pairing this with the Oculus Rift and Delta Six controller to play your favorite FPS games and truly feeling tired after running through a battlefield.
The Omni also can be disassembled for easy storage when not in use and claims to be no louder than an average treadmill, so theoretically you could have this in your house or apartment. It is compatible with different controllers on the market and also with the Xbox Kinect system. If the Omni can do all it claims when it’s released in 2014, it’s no wonder that it was fully funded after only a few days, as it has great potential.
