If your dog is an indoor/outdoor dog, you probably have a scratched up doorframe where he digs when he wants to be let in or out. The Pebble Smart Doggie Doorbell, an Indiegogo project, gives you a doorbell that you can train your dog to push to let you know when he needs the door opened. For an early-bird pledge of $25 (or $30 when those limited offers are gone), you’ll get one bell (loud enough to be heard through your house) and one push-button transmitter for either inside or outside the door. If that seems a bit incomplete to you, you can get a kit with both an inside and an outside push button for a higher pledge. Other kits for multiple doors are also available. Funding ends on January 11, 2013. (Be aware that Indiegogo apparently awards all pledges to the project even if the funding goal isn’t met.)

This is on the same level as the kit that lets you teach a cat to use a toilet. Flushing not expected.
