Building a smart home often means juggling different apps for cameras, locks, and thermostats. Even when devices work with the same platform, setup and everyday controls can be inconsistent. LG Electronics and Apple aim to simplify that experience with seven LG accessories developed together for the broader Apple Home Collection, which also includes a Schneider Electric thermostat and room sensor.

Announced on October 13, 2026, the lineup includes three security cameras, a video doorbell, smart deadbolt, thermostat, and temperature sensor. The products support Apple’s Home app and Siri, while LG also offers integration through its ThinQ app. The first accessories are scheduled to arrive in December 2026.
LG’s Security Cameras Make Home Monitoring Easier
Security cameras help homeowners check deliveries, monitor pets, and keep an eye on their property. LG’s new Indoor Cam Plug-In, Outdoor Cam Plug-In, and Floodlight Cam offer different options depending on where monitoring is needed.

All three capture video at up to 2.5K resolution. Apple Home can distinguish different kinds of activity, including deliveries, animals, vehicles, and people, with familiar-face recognition also supported.
The Indoor Cam has a motorized mechanism that adjusts its viewing angle. Through Apple Home, it can automatically tilt downward when the first household member returns, providing a visible privacy measure.

The Outdoor Cam offers adjustable positioning and color night vision. Meanwhile, the Floodlight Cam adds two adaptive lights that activate when motion is detected, making it suitable for entrances and outdoor areas.

Built-in storage allows recording to continue during Wi-Fi interruptions. With an eligible iCloud+ plan, users can access 10 days of encrypted event video history. Remote viewing and notifications may still depend on connectivity.
LG Video Doorbell Wired Keeps an Eye on Deliveries
A common limitation of video doorbells is their viewing angle. Visitors may appear clearly while packages placed directly beneath the camera remain out of sight.
The LG Video Doorbell Wired addresses this with two cameras. Its front-facing camera records at 2.5K resolution, while a separate Full HD camera monitors the doorstep. Users can switch between views to check visitors and deliveries.

The doorbell also supports two-way communication, activity recognition, and a built-in spotlight. When someone rings, compatible HomePod speakers or Apple’s HomeView display can play a chime, while notifications appear on connected Apple devices.
Because this is a wired doorbell, buyers should check their existing wiring and power supply before purchasing.
LG Smart Deadbolt Lock Offers Hands-Free Entry
Smart locks can eliminate traditional keys, but some still require users to open an app or tap their phone against the door.
LG’s Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband technology and Apple’s home key feature to recognize an authorized user approaching the entrance. With a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch, the door can unlock automatically.

Other entry methods include NFC tapping, a PIN keypad, and a concealed physical backup key. Beyond controlling entry, the lock reports door status and possible tampering. Apple says it can also alert users when the door remains open despite being locked.
Apple confirms Matter and Aliro support, with core access functions operating locally even without an internet connection. Buyers should still verify device compatibility and deadbolt dimensions before ordering.
LG Smart Thermostat Adjusts to Household Routines
A thermostat positioned in one room may not accurately reflect temperatures throughout the house. LG’s Smart Thermostat works with optional Temperature Sensors to provide more information about conditions in different areas.

Through Apple’s Adaptive Temperature feature, the thermostat can adjust heating and cooling based on whether household members are home, away, or preparing for bed.
The sensors measure temperature and humidity, while Matter compatibility supports integration with other compatible smart home devices.
In the contiguous United States, Apple’s Clean Energy Guidance can help shift heating and cooling toward cleaner electricity periods. Supported utility-provider integrations can also shift operation toward lower-cost periods, depending on the household’s utility plan. Actual savings depend on local utility plans, HVAC equipment, and household routines.
Apple Home Integration and Privacy
Apple Home Collection accessories are designed for straightforward setup. Users can begin pairing with a tap on a compatible iPhone and manage the products through Apple’s Home app without creating separate third-party accounts.
Automations can coordinate different devices. For example, leaving home could adjust the thermostat, lock the door, and activate camera monitoring.
Apple and LG say Home app data is protected by end-to-end encryption, preventing either company from reading users’ protected information.

Setup requires an iPhone running the latest operating system software. Camera monitoring and certain additional features require a compatible Apple home hub, such as HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV 4K. Access to 10 days of recorded camera event history requires a supported iCloud+ plan.
