Audio setups used to have fairly clear boundaries. Computer speakers stayed on the desk, studio monitors belonged in recording rooms, headphones handled private listening, and televisions had their own audio systems. Those divisions make less sense when the same desk can be an office in the morning, a production space in the afternoon, and a gaming or movie setup at night.
Edifier’s IFA 2026 showing reflects that change. As the company celebrates its 30th anniversary, it is showing products spanning headphones, studio monitors, desktop speakers, subwoofers, Hi-Fi equipment, and gaming audio. The more interesting story is not how many products Edifier brought to Berlin. It is how several of them are designed for audio setups that increasingly need to do more than one job.
The M90 Is Escaping the Desktop
The M90 is not actually an IFA 2026 debut. Edifier is using IFA to showcase it alongside the new MW6T powered subwoofer, a pairing that better illustrates the company’s cross-scenario pitch than treating the M90 as just another new speaker.
The M90 delivers 100W RMS through a bi-amped two-way design, with 4-inch aluminum mid-bass drivers and 1-inch silk-dome tweeters. Connectivity includes USB-C, optical, AUX, Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, and, unusually for a desktop speaker, HDMI eARC. There is also a dedicated subwoofer output.
HDMI eARC gives the M90 an easy route from computer speaker to TV audio without requiring an AV receiver or separate soundbar. Add the MW6T and it becomes a compact 2.1 system that could serve a desk, television, or gaming setup.
The MW6T uses two 6.5-inch woofers and produces a claimed 210W RMS. Edifier also includes room acoustic compensation intended to adapt its bass response to different spaces. On paper, the MW6T promises substantial output, but wattage alone cannot tell us whether the subwoofer integrates cleanly with the M90 or produces controlled bass in a difficult room. Those questions still require listening and measurement.
The XR6 Attacks a Problem Better Speakers Cannot Solve
Edifier’s XR6 studio monitor addresses a different problem. You can buy accurate monitors and still hear an inaccurate mix if your room introduces reflections, resonances, and exaggerated bass.
The XR6 uses a three-way, tri-amped design and is positioned as a professional active studio monitor with advanced acoustic and calibration features. Edifier says it combines onboard DSP with PC software to optimize performance for different listening environments, while balanced XLR and TRS, RCA, and AES/EBU connections make it better suited to serious studio setups than the M90.
The standout feature is automatic room calibration. That distinction matters because claims around flat response, low coloration, and consistent monitoring still deserve independent measurements and real-world testing.
The WH950NB Pro Has an Ambitious Headphone Spec Sheet
The new WH950NB Pro may have the broadest mainstream appeal. Edifier has equipped the headphones with adaptive hybrid ANC, an eight-microphone noise-cancelling system, dual dynamic drivers, spatial audio with head tracking, a six-microphone AI call system, Bluetooth 6.1, and up to 70 hours of battery life with ANC off.
That is an aggressive feature list for a wireless over-ear model aimed at everyday listening. Still, microphone counts, driver counts, and battery ratings do not tell us how the WH950NB Pro will perform on an airplane, in a noisy office, or during a windy phone call. ANC effectiveness, comfort, call quality, sound quality, and real-world endurance will need independent testing.
Who Each Product Is For
The XR6 may be the most interesting product here for creators because its room correction tackles a real problem that buying increasingly expensive monitors cannot solve by itself. It makes the strongest case for producers and musicians working in bedrooms, home studios, and other spaces where perfect acoustic treatment is not realistic.
The WH950NB Pro is the one to watch for commuters and frequent travelers. Its combination of LDAC, multipoint-style convenience, adaptive ANC, spatial audio, and long claimed battery life covers most of the features expected from modern premium wireless headphones, at least on paper.
The M90 and MW6T combination has a different appeal. It makes sense for someone with limited space who would rather build one capable audio system than maintain separate computer speakers and TV audio. HDMI eARC, Bluetooth, USB-C, and a dedicated subwoofer output give that setup considerably more flexibility than the traditional desktop-speaker formula.
Pricing and firm regional availability for several of Edifier’s IFA products remain important parts of the buying decision. Until those details and independent testing arrive, they are best viewed as promising options rather than automatic recommendations.
Even so, Edifier’s IFA 2026 showing points in a sensible direction: speakers and headphones designed to work across home offices, studios, living rooms, and gaming setups instead of being confined to just one of them.
