Most monitor risers solve one problem and then sit there. Nanoleaf’s Smart LED Monitor Stand takes on three jobs: lift the display, light the keyboard, and wash the wall behind the screen, which is a lot to ask of one walnut-veneered bar parked under a monitor. Three jobs, one object. At $169.99, it’s priced as a commitment rather than an impulse buy.

Desk lighting usually arrives in pieces: a lamp that eats surface area, a strip that peels by month four, a bias light that does nothing for your keyboard. Consolidation is the pitch.

A riser with two lighting jobs

Nanoleaf calls it the Nanoleaf x FANTAQI Smart LED Monitor Stand, and the lighting system Dual Flux. Front task light handles the desk. Rear ambient covers a 160-degree spread behind the display, and the split matters because those two jobs want opposite qualities, one built for color accuracy, the other for soft falloff.

Inside sit 102 individually addressable LEDs across more than 16 million colors. Nanoleaf puts most smart light strips at 10 to 50 zones, so 102 across a 100cm bar roughly doubles the resolution of the strips it replaces. Cheap strips band. The spec sheet says this one shouldn’t.

CRI 97 covers the front light only. That number rates how closely a source renders color against natural daylight, and 97 out of 100 is more than most desk lamps even publish.

Why the front light does the real work

Rear lighting changes a room in a second. Front light changes the work. Nanoleaf publishes 550 lumens on the task channel and 480 across the front and back RGB channels, which is monitor light bar territory, not architect lamp.

Small workstations win. The riser absorbs the lamp, the bias light, and the cable clutter that comes with both, and the pool of accurate light over the keyboard kills the dark-void effect that stretches late sessions. Big desks with three displays still want a lamp arm.

What $169.99 actually buys

Nanoleaf’s U.S. store lists a single SKU, SQFX03K02-1PA, at $169.99, in stock as of this writing, with no size or tier options. One configuration.

Budget for a charger too. The stand ships without a power adapter and wants a 15W or better USB-C PD supply, since a typical USB-A charger won’t carry it.

Stack it against what it replaces. Buying a task light bar, a riser, and an app-controlled ambient strip separately means three purchases, three power draws, and three things to align behind an already crowded monitor.

Twenty-three universal quarter-inch threaded holes run the length of the bar for cameras, mics, or arms you already own, though they’re aimed at gear you supply rather than a Nanoleaf accessory line. Headroom, not a finished system.

Where it fits in a mixed smart home

Nanoleaf app, Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, and Home Assistant all work with it, because the stand speaks Matter over Thread and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Full ecosystem control wants a Matter hub, so the app alone gets you lights without automations. Orphaned hardware is expensive hardware.

Spreadsheets make ugly light. Screen Mirror is the mode most people demo once and then rethink, though color pulled from a film at 11pm is the reason you bought a rear light in the first place.

The numbers that decide whether it fits your desk

Fit specs are the part to read before buying. The bar measures 100cm wide, 22.5cm deep, and 12.1cm tall, so it wants a full-width desk and takes real depth behind the keyboard. Load capacity runs 70kg (154 lbs) with the center support column and 28kg (61.7 lbs) without. Measure first.

Shallow desks are the real constraint, not weight. Giving up 22.5cm of depth, close to 9 inches, is a hard trade on a 60cm (24-inch) desk, and no CRI rating fixes a cramped keyboard position. Walk away if it’s close.

Bottom Line: One object doing three jobs

Nanoleaf built this around a physical job first, which puts it ahead of most RGB desk gear by default and explains why the color modes read as the extra rather than the argument. Raise the screen.

At $169.99 this isn’t a grab-and-see purchase. It suits the person assembling a workstation from nothing, and nobody who already solved desk lighting with gear they like. Check your desk depth first.
