MSI marked its 40th anniversary by giving its Titan 18 HX flagship a mythology-inspired makeover, and the result is the Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Draco Epic, a limited-run gaming laptop that pairs the brand’s most powerful mobile hardware with a showpiece design built around the Draco constellation.

The Draco Epic runs on Intel’s Core Ultra 9 processor 290HX Plus, a 24-core, 24-thread chip (8 P-cores plus 16 E-cores) with a built-in NPU, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU carrying 24GB of GDDR7 memory. MSI’s OverBoost technology lets the pair draw up to 270W combined under Apex Mode on AC power, and the company claims up to 220W of desktop-grade CPU power alone.
Storage runs through MSI’s Super RAID 5 setup across four SSD slots, rated up to 18,000 MB/s in RAID 0, alongside dual-channel DDR5 memory. Connectivity covers dual Thunderbolt 5 ports (up to 120Gbps each) and Wi-Fi 7.
The centerpiece is an 18-inch Mini LED display running at 3840 by 2400 (UHD+) resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, per-unit factory calibration, and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. MSI backs the panel with a vapor chamber cooler that includes a dedicated cooling pipe for the PCIe Gen5 SSDs.
Rounding things out: a Cherry MX ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard with a two-piece keycap structure and gold cross-point contacts, which MSI’s spec sheet lists as a Cherry per-key RGB gaming keyboard by SteelSeries, an invisible RGB haptic touchpad, a 6-speaker Dynaudio sound system with Nahimic and Hi-Res Audio support, a 99.9Whr battery, and an IR FHD webcam with a physical shutter. The whole machine weighs 3.6 kg (about 7.9 pounds) with the battery and ships with a 400W adapter.
A design built around a dragon
The “Draco Epic” name isn’t only branding. MSI leans on the Greek myth of the dragon that became the constellation Draco, and it carries that story onto the hardware itself. The lid’s glass panel gets a five-layer silk screen printing process, joined by a dragon RGB logo and a 40th Anniversary Special Edition badge.
The theme doesn’t stop at the laptop. Buyers in select markets can add an official Draco Edition bundle with a premium color box, a limited edition coin, a mousepad, and a matching gaming mouse. MSI notes those accessories vary by country. Every unit also ships with a two-month Xbox Game Pass Essential subscription, which MSI says can vary by model and region.
Price and availability 
MSI hasn’t listed a price directly on its US product page, pointing shoppers to a “Shop Now” link instead. Retailer Excaliber PC does stock it. Its listing for the A2WJ-1246US configuration, with an RTX 5090 24GB, 96GB of RAM, and 4TB of storage, comes in at $6,899.
That covers one configuration. MSI hasn’t confirmed exact US pricing for the rest of the lineup.
Why it matters
The Draco Epic is less about new hardware and more about how far MSI is willing to push a special edition. It uses the same Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and RTX 5090 combination already found in the standard Titan 18 HX, but wraps it in a design exercise, limited packaging, and a price that edges toward small-desktop territory.
