REVIEW – I have a five year-old. She loves life and is just happy to go with the flow. Until this summer. When her brother was able to learn to ride without training wheels, she was determined to follow suit. The Biky Air 20 was an incredibly easy transition and helped her learn to ride on two wheels. In less than a day.

Design and features
Every child is different, and it might take longer than a day to learn to ride a bike, but it took my five year old one day to figure out how to ride without training wheels. Of course, she has had to practice more since then to become confident, but I can hardly get her to come in at the end of the day.

This bike is incredibly light. Only 14.8 pounds. I feel that was one of the major factors in helping my daughter to learn how to ride so quickly. She is able to pick up the bike and turn around, balance is easier, and there are no cables or chains to get in the way.
The bike chain is fully enclosed for safety. It is also great to keep it clean, and probably raises the longevity of the bike as a whole.

I like to assemble things, but I am also busy and was worried it would snow before I had time to get this bike together and ride. Thankfully, this bike basically came preassembled. The handlebars were strapped to the main bar for easier shipping, and the foot pedal was in a separate bag. There were four screws to undo to place the handlebars in their designated location. After that, all you needed to do was line up the square. Tightening the screws was the last step, but was a little awkward and would’ve been easier to have a second set of hands.
Adjusting the brakes wasn’t necessary. Everything was already done for me! I loved how simple the setup was. It took some time for my daughter to get used to handbrakes instead of pedaling backwards, but she loves it now. The backwards pedaling has also become second nature to her.

The colors are beautiful and very vibrant. I chose the splash blue, it is gorgeous, and even my “pink only” princess liked the color. The bike even comes with some stickers which of course had to be applied immediately.

The bike did not come with a kick stand. Not a huge deal, but I do miss being able to prop the bike anywhere instead of laying it in the grass.

Moving the bike while trying to winterize our lawn was so easy because it was so light. We could put it just about anywhere and not be worried it was going to crush or be crushed. Not that we are piling things on top of it, of course, but it is stacked with the rest of the bikes, and we all know how kids can be.

So many great things were thought through. It really was designed for kids. For safety, ease of riding, precautions of all kids. I can see us using this bike for a long time to come.
Final thoughts
I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about this bike. I do wish that it had a kickstand, and with as much as they cost it would be awesome if the bike would fold for easy storage or transport. The brake lines are even tucked into the frame. This bike was thoroughly thought through for kids. I am super happy, and so is my little girl. Even the box provides entertainment. 🙂
