REVIEW – Years ago, a Dremel kit was a must-have toolset for DIYers and crafters. They were very useful tools with a variety of bits for different tasks, but they were bulky with a thick power cord. These days, rechargeable cordless tools are more convenient and compact. Today, I want to introduce you to the HOTO SNAPBLOQ system of cordless tools.

What is it?
The HOTO SNAPBLOQ system is a collection of rotary tool sets with associated bits that can be stacked together.
There are three different sets of HOTO SNAPBLOQ tools:
S-A01 Electric Precision Screwdriver Master Set
D-A03 Electric Mini Drill Set
R-A04 Electric Mini Rotary Tool Kit
D-A03 Electric Mini Drill Set
What’s included
- Rechargeable rotary handle
- 20x M2 drill bits
- Drill stand
- 2x storage boxes
- Instructions
- USB-C charging cable
Design and features
All of the SNAPBLOQ sets come with their own rotary tool that stores in a tube that snaps into the sides of the tool boxes. It’s an interesting design that turns the storage tube into a handle.
Along with the storage tube for the rotary tool, each set also has two “tool boxes” that stack and snap together magnetically. Do you see the theme here?
The D-A03 set comes with 20 drill bits that are stored in one of the tool boxes, while a special fixture that can hold small items for easier drilling.
The tool itself is comfortable to hold and has three buttons on the side. One button shows the battery status and cycles through the speeds (600, 900, and 1200 RPM), the < > buttons control the drill’s rotation (clockwise/counter clockwise).
When either arrow button is pressed, the drill starts and an LED light on the end turns on.
The included drill stand can help hold small items in place. The high precision drill is strong enough for a variety of thin materials like shell, wood, acrylic, plastic, tin, aluminum, and more. You’re not going to build a house with this drill, but for small hobby jobs like 3D printing and jewelry making, it’s great.
S-A01 Electric Precision Screwdriver Master Set
What’s included
- Rechargeable rotary handle
- 56 HRC60 hardened steel bits (Slotted, Phillips, Hexagon, Hexagon Security, Torx, Torx Security, Pentalobe, Standoff, Y-Shaped, Tri-Wing, Triangle, Square, U-Shaped, JIS, SIM Card Needle)
- 2x storage boxes
- Instructions
- USB-C charging cable
Design and features
This set comes with a nice selection of small screwdriver bits. The bits fit easily into a well-organized magnetic case that is clearly labeled (although the labels are small).
The rotary tool is almost identical to the mini drill tool, with arrow buttons, speed button, and the LED light on the end. But instead of a small collar that you have to tighten, this tool has a magnetic slot that the bits snap into.
All the tools have a built-in USB-C port on the opposite end, which you use to charge the internal 800mAh battery.
The selection of bits has fit everything I’ve thrown at it so far.
The torque has been adequate for the small jobs I’ve tested.
R-A04 Electric Mini Rotary Tool Set
What’s included
- Rechargeable rotary handle
- 38 piece set has drilling, grinding, engraving/carving, sanding, cleaning, and polishing tips
- Polishing paste
- 2x storage boxes
- Instructions
- USB-C charging cable
Design and features
This set is most like an old-school Dremel set with the polishing and grinding attachments. The only thing missing is a cutting wheel.
This tool has a slightly a different “user interface” compared to the other tools. Instead of the three button setup, this one has a button and a slider. The button (closest to the tip) toggles power and the slider is the speed control. This rotary tool has a much higher RPM range compared to the other tools. It has a 15,000 – 22,000 RPM range. That makes it perfect for smoothing PLA and ABS layers on 3D prints.
But you need to be careful because it’s super easy to take off too much material in just a second if you’re not paying attention or pressing too hard.
The sets can stack, but the magnets aren’t strong enough to allow you to pick up the stack from the top two layers. You have to pick up the whole bundle.
Final thoughts
The HOTO SNAPBLOQ system really brings the classic rotary tool kit into the modern age. I love how each set is thoughtfully designed, with its own rechargeable tool and a generous selection of bits for just about any small project you can imagine. The modular, stackable cases make storage and transport a breeze, and the USB-C charging means you don’t have to hunt for a special charger when it’s time to top up the battery.
While the magnetic stacking system is clever, I do wish the magnets were a little stronger so you could safely grab the whole bundle without worrying about it coming apart. Still, that’s a minor gripe compared to the convenience and versatility you get. If you’ve been looking for a compact, quiet, and easy-to-use set of precision tools for your workbench or craft table, the HOTO SNAPBLOQ kits get my thumbs up.

How are the bits held inthe tools? And can you buy replacement bits?
The drill and the rotary tool sets have collars that you have to tighten and the screwdriver has a magnetic socket. HOTO doesn’t appear to sell replacement bits, but I tried some similarly sized bits from other brands from sets I already own and they fit perfectly.
Thanks Julie, I might be interested at a better price
