Design and features
I have a couple of large (100lb) power stations, a few medium power stations, and some tiny (phone-sized) battery units. I wanted a small power station that could be easily carried by anyone and something that could charge devices, but still have a 120v outlet for items that may not be USB powered.
The Aaoyun Portable Power Station review offer came along and as soon as I saw the built-in lights, I knew this had the potential to be exactly what I was looking for. It had a popup night light, a flashlight, USB ports, 120v port, and a carry handle.

I was impressed from the moment the Aaoyun Portable Power Station arrived. Not only was it the perfect size, but the lights were exactly what I was hoping for. This unit is small enough to easily transport anywhere.
I first plugged in the included 60W Type-C charging adapter to ensure the unit was fully charged. I like how the included type-c charger has retractable prongs.
The unit can be charged in several ways. The Type-C input can be used with the included charging adapter and cable or can take various voltages (PD/QC) up to 20V with other chargers you may have. The DC input can take vehicle 12V or solar panel input (20v 3.25A DC).

During a power outage, it’s nice to have a light that will illuminate a room. After charging, I set out to test how long the night light would run since that was my primary need. Power outages here are normally only a couple of hours, but can occasionally last a day or two if there’s a bad storm.

I ran the night light on maximum for over 24 hours and the indicator never dropped into the 80% range. After seeing that the nightlight was going to run for a very long time, I looked on the product listing to see if I could find out. On low it will run for 420 hours (17.5 days) and on high it will run for 100 hours (4.1 days). The popup night light provides 360° illumination with 2 brightness levels and 2 temperature modes (warm and cool).

The flashlight features a USA-imported Luminus 20W high-intensity LED with an effective range of 1500M. The flashlight features 3 brightness levels, SOS, and strobe lighting modes. The flashlight is rated at 80 hours on low, 42 hours on medium, and 25 hours on high. The strobe and SOS modes can run for 40 hours.

The included carry strap is a great feature. At 59 inches long, the strap provides a great way to carry the unit over your shoulder or around your torso. It could even be used to hang the unit at a campsite to keep it off the ground.
The unit can charge 7 devices simultaneously via the ports:
1. 1x 110V AC outlet supports up to 300W
2. 1x PD 100W USB-C port (supports input and output)
3. 3x fast charge QC 3.0 22.5W ports
4. 1x 12v car port
5. 1x 12v DC port
The AC, USB, and DC ports have separate on/off buttons so that the unit does not consume power when a particular type of port is not needed.
The Aaoyun Portable Power Station also has a flexible mesh pocket on the end that provides just enough room for a couple of USB cables. I really like being able to store USB cables with a unit so that it’s ready whenever and wherever I need it.

The strap connections also provide a nice place to clip a small pouch of other items you may want to bring along. When it comes to power units, convenience and portability are key.
Sometimes it’s the little things that count. The Aaoyun Portable Power Station also surprised me with a small lip on the top running parallel to the handle. That little lip keeps your phone or tablet from slipping off when placed on top while charging. I really like being able to set my phone on top of a power unit when charging.

It’s winter here in Michigan as I write this and I recently spent two long days working on my son’s vehicle in my garage. The lighting in there isn’t the greatest, so I used the Aaoyun Portable Power Station for light and power for my phone while watching YouTube videos. It certainly made the job more enjoyable.
Final thoughts
The Aaoyun Portable Power Station impressed me from the start. It’s a very portable, yet very capable unit with features that many other units do not have. It has become my favorite small power station. The night light and flashlight features are very useful and are certainly going to get a lot of use in the future.

This uses old and less safe battery technology. Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries typically last for around 300 to 500 charge cycles,
LiFePO4 batteries typically last between 2,000 and 5,000 charge cycles and are much safer.
It’s a disservice recommending outdated tech like this.
