NEWS – Back in the day, the Blackberry was the master of the mobile phone world and was perhaps best known for their physical keyboards. These days, neither are part of our smartphone experience, but what if the keyboards should be? Digital keyboards consume a third of our screens, often obscuring the very forms into which we are trying to enter information. To address this issue, Clicks created a phone case that includes a physical keyboard. The upside is that we get to see our entire phone screen and have physical buttons with tactile feedback. The downside, of course, is the increased size.
Clicks recently released the next iteration of their keyboards that are designed for the iPhone 16. They’ve made a few improvements, including a stiffer material that feels less mushy and collects less dust, a more ergonomic set of keys, and support for MagSafe charging. They’ve also added data out on the USB-C port so that CarPlay works, but the downside is that it doesn’t support data out while charging, rather a problem for long road trips, or wired headphones.
Who is this gadget for? I think it’s for anyone who types and texts a lot and isn’t worried about keeping their phone as small as possible.
