REVIEW – Every fall when school starts it seems like I need new headphones for my kids. Between testing, online lessons, music, and whatever else is going on, headphones are a must on the list of back to school items and I’m lucky if any given pair survives the year. iClever approached us with a set of noise cancelling kids headphones and I had to see how they compared to past sets we’ve destroyed in my house. Read on!

Design and features

The cups and inner lining of these headphones is made with a very soft foam that is very comfortable to wear. The hinges on each side swivel and adjust for an optimal fit that isn’t too snug. I have an extra-large head and they barely fit me when expanded out, but I’m not the target demographic. The smallest sizing is just about perfect for my youngest kid and they love these headphones.

Setup

Setup is simple. Basic charging via USB-C and connectivity via Bluetooth.

Performance

I was able to fit these on my head, but I didn’t use them for very long because I am definitely not the target demographic for these headphones. For the little bit that I did try them on, they sounded good and were very comfortable. The lining of the cups is very nice and seems like it would be nice for extended wear.

Giving these headphones to my child, they instantly loved them. They really like to listen to audiobooks while they play games and do things around the house and these worked great. They connected well to their tablet and stayed connected while wandering around the house away from the tablet.

What I like about the iClever BTH20 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones

  • Soft, comfortable band and ear cups
  • Volume limitation is a great feature for kids that haven’t learned how to moderate yet
  • Construction is strong and well-designed. It looks like these will be able to take a fair amount of abuse
  • Sound quality seems good, and the battery life is great
  • While noise cancellation can be annoying when you’re trying to get your kid’s attention, it is a very nice feature to have on airplanes and in loud, overwhelming environments

What needs to be improved?

  • Nothing

Final thoughts

Overall, this is a very nice little set of noise cancelling headphones. I have no complaints so far. We’ll see how well they age and I’ll update the post if anything notable happens. For kids headphones they cost a little more than I normally would spend, but if they hold up well, they would definitely be worth it.
