REVIEW – I previously reviewed the Arcade Belts Carto A2 Stretch belt and I’ve worn it daily since so when Arcade asked if I would check out their new National Geographic inspired belt I couldn’t say no. Let’s see how the Arcade National Geographic 1888 performs.
What is it?
Arcade Belts and National Geographic have teamed up to create three Nat Geo inspired belt designs: the Topo, a classic look; the Collective, inspired by the vibrant Nat Geo yellow; and the 1888, which represents the year National Geographic began publication.

Design and Features
The Arcade Belts National Geographic 1888 sports a three piece buckle that is a little different than the A2 contoured belt buckle used in the other two National Geographic belts. It’s a bit stouter I think than the A2 buckle but they both clip securely and release easily by pressing the top and bottom tabs at the same time.
Adjusting the Arcade Nat Geo 1888 is super easy by sliding the belt along the buckle adjuster back and forth to get the perfect fit.
Arcade belts are made from recycled performance yarn which is super comfortable and has held up great despite hard use. I’ve gone disc golfing, hiking, running, and everything in between wearing an Arcade belt and even with a heavy pack on they don’t bind or cause hot spots.
The Arcade Nat Geo 1888 like all their belts does not contain any metal so they are travel friendly which is a great feature. They are also washable so you can even leave them on your pants permanently if you so choose.
What I like about the Arcade Belts Nat Geo 1888
- Perfect fit and very comfortable
- Travel friendly
What needs to be improved?
- Nothing
Final Thoughts
The Arcade Belts Nat Geo 1888 is a nice homage to a veritable outdoor institution. Before the internet, National Geographic was how I learned about parts of the world that I didn’t think I could ever see on my own and likely fueled my lifelong desire to travel. I was a big fan of Arcade Belts already and their comfort and functionality are bar none. The Nat Geo 1888 adds a subtle little nod to that outdoor spirit so if you are looking for a belt for your next adventure check out what Arcade has to offer.

I like it! Would go nicely with the Arcade belt I already have…except it doesn’t come in the slim size, which I need for most of my pants. Too bad.
