What is it about the Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Folding Stand that separates it from all the competitors? Quite a lot actually….

The Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand, is as the name implies, a folding stand that is equipped with the latest Qi2 wireless charging standard. It can power 3 devices, delivering 15W to a smartphone, 5W to headphones, and 5W for the Apple Watch.

Design and features
I have a few multi-device chargers around my house, in my bedroom, the office, and portable ones I take on trips. They are generally very efficient and provide a nearly clutter-free setup. But each one has a downside. Some charge slower, some don’t fold up or articulate, some only charge two devices, some feel cheap and flimsy, and some take up more space than others. They are all ‘fine’ but none of them are ‘exceptional’. From the moment I unboxed the Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand, I knew this was a little different.
Let’s start with the physical aspect of this product. There is a high-quality feel to it with the more premium materials used. The aluminum is strong and the hinges don’t have any play in them. There is vegan leather on the bottom wireless charging pad and soft silicon for the Apple Watch charging spot. This charger has a very premium feel! The design is elegant and fits nicely into any decor. It also completes folds flat. The hinge along the bottom, the hinge for the Apple Watch, and the hinge for the MagSafe connection all are sturdy and have no wiggle. The base is slightly weighted and will keep the charger in place while removing the phone.
The Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand also supports the new Qi2 charging standard. Previously Qi chargers only supported 10W of power, but with the new standard, it now can support up to 15W of charging. Qi2 is based on the MagSafe and supports magnetic connections and faster charging speeds. Before, if you wanted the fastest wireless charging for your iPhone, you needed to use an Apple-certificated device.
A note on compatibility; on the product information page on the Satechi website, it only lists Apple iPhones (12 and newer), Watches (series 1 and newer), and AirPods (that support wireless charging). Clicking to the FAQ section, I discovered the following:
“Android smartphones usually do not have magnets built inside the device. However, there are case companies that make magnetic charging cases for newer released smartphones. You can use these special cases to charge your device to the magnetic charging stand.
Earbuds cases that support wireless charging will charge without any issues. The stand is only compatible with Apple Watches and will not be able to charge smartwatches from other brands.”
Theoretically, using a Qi2-supported case along with an Android phone that supports wireless charging, should work. Also, any earbuds that accept wireless charging should work. The only must-have device is the Apple Watch and that is the only watch that works with the built-in charger.
I like the fully articulating MagSafe connector that adjusts for custom viewing, whether that’s in landscape or portrait orientation. This is great for taking video calls or for using Stand-By mode. Between the MagSafe connector adjustment and the bottom hinge, there isn’t a bad angle to see your phone.

Final thoughts
As far as wireless charging stands go, the Satechi 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand is one of the most premium feeling, ‘Apple design’ looking devices on the market. It supports the latest Qi2 standard enabling faster charging speeds, it folds up nicely, has a fully articulating MagSafe connector, and charges three devices. Compared to my other chargers, this device does not have a downside!
