DEAL NEWS – Add a powerful new aid during treacherous weather conditions with this Eton Elite Executive Shortwave Radio, now just $149.99 (reg. $249) for a limited time.
Most of us already rely on our phones to a startling degree. But during an emergency like extreme weather events, many learn that cell networks can fail when users need them the most.
The reality is that cell network service is actually growing increasingly unreliable, even during the best of conditions. According to a J.D. Power survey, U.S. cellphone users reported problems 11 out of every 100 times they tried to use data, text, or make a call in 2023. That’s a rise from nine problems per every 100 connections just three years ago.
With thunderstorm season fast approaching, consider adding some much-needed peace of mind in the form of the Eton Elite Executive Radio.
The Eton Elite is an international radio ready to pick up signals from down the street and all the way around the world, including long-range shortwave broadcasts.
With its simple LCD, you can easily tune into 700 memory presets featuring local and global news and music. The Elite goes way beyond standard AM and FM, receiving aircraft and ham radio bands that can be vitally important during an emergency.
To enhance AM reception, the Elite has a PLL tuner for stronger, clearer signals. The single-sideband mode helps avoid typical radio interference and distortion, allowing more channels to boom through loud and clear. As for FM, RDS technology displays song titles and station information.
And even if a weather event knocks out cellular networks in your area, the Elite runs on batteries or AC power, so it’s always ready to go even when phones are disabled.
Ultra-portable with an included premium leather case, this radio is built for travel. Meanwhile, the Elite is already a hit with current owners. With a 4.2-star rating from over 2,300 reviews, Amazon shoppers worldwide can’t say enough about the Elite.
For a limited time, you can get almost $100 off the Eton Elite Executive Radio, cutting the regular $249 price down to just $149.99 with this limited-time offer.

It was just superseded by the HD model

It doesn’t appear that the new one is available yet though. At least I didn’t see a price for it. Did you find one?
This receiver is nice but definitely not the only choice out there though the new version does offer HD reception. Tecsun offers the H-501 and PL-990, both superb receivers, and for those wanting even smaller performers, the PL-368 (offered by CountyComm as the GP-7) and PL-330. Another thing to note is that the Eton suffers from what is called “soft muting” in which the radio mutes momentarily while tuning, an annoying issue.
