Luci Beam 2-in-1 Solar Headlamp and Flashlight
Everyone should have a good flashlight and one with multiple use modes is just that much more valuable. The Luci Beam 2-in-1 fits that bill perfectly. It’s both a handheld flashlight or a headlamp that converts instantly thanks to powerful magnets.
The main body houses a 4,000 mAh battery and a solar panel for recharging away from traditional power sources. The headlamp (which is also the flashlight lens) has it’s own 650 mAh battery for up to 2 hours of white light runtime at the brightest 300 lumens setting. That extends to 6 hours at the medium 100 lumens setting or 24 hours at the low 10 lumens mode. Additionally, there are two red modes along with a blinking mode at a medium brightness for each color.
The IPX4 rating means it’s water resistant and the included charging cable allows for quick charging prior to any camping trips or longer outings. This is a great gift idea for any adventurers in your life.

Huck Bucket
We all have that one person who seems to have everything they want, and it is impossible to buy a gift for when the holiday season comes around. Well, I have a solution for you. Get them a bucket for Christmas! Yes, you heard me correctly. This bucket is the king of buckets and can handle pretty much any task you throw at it. It is nothing like the cheap five-gallon buckets you buy at your local blue or orange hardware stores. The Huck bucket can haul up to 300 lbs even if you can’t. It has an ergonomic handle and two side handles. It is made of a new polymer called SpryTech that is UV resistant, marine grade, food safe, and lightweight. What I love is the handle is bolted through the bucket itself with stainless steel hardware and is rated up to 600 lbs. I have broken a couple of the cheap five-gallon buckets by trying to haul too heavy of a load in them. It has rubber feet on the bottom that will keep the bucket from slipping, which would come in handy on a boat and keep the bottom of the bucket from wear and tear. It comes in white, black, tan, or blue. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it is the last bucket they will ever need.

Priority Brilliant L Train Commuter Bicycle
If you’re looking for a super simple low maintenance bicycle for commuting or around town riding then I have the bike for you. The Priority Brilliant L Train is the perfect bike with puncture resistant 700c x 32 tires which have low rolling resistance but enough width for a comfortable ride. The L Train also sports a rust and grease free Gates Carbon Belt Drive and an internally geared 7 speed Shimano Nexus rear hub which means I don’t have to worry about leaving it out in rainy Pacific Northwest weather.
I love riding bikes but hadn’t tried the Gates Carbon Belt Drive before. I found it super smooth and quiet especially paired with the internally geared Shimano Nexus hub. The Priority Brilliant L Train is so easy to ride and since there’s no chain it won’t rust and no lube is required so I don’t have to worry about getting pesky chain marks on my pants and the belt could last years before needing any maintenance.
The Priority Brilliant L Train is available in two colors, Subway Grey and Hudson Blue, with either available in an even more maintenance friendly V-brake configuration or with hydraulic disc brakes. I chose the hydraulic disc brake version which weighs 30lbs and costs $850 despite being 3lbs heavier and more expensive than the $750 V-brake L Train since I also plan to do some light trail riding and I wanted the better stopping power.
For commuting and riding around town this is the perfect bike for me and it just looks good too with the two color Hudson Blue/white frame, brown leather grips, and matching seat. The L Train came 85% assembled and included all the tools needed for final assembly. Priority even includes a bottle of touch up paint! Easy to follow assembly videos and a very responsive and helpful customer service will get you riding in no time if you have trouble. If you or someone you know is looking for an easy to ride super low maintenance bike that won’t break your budget then Priority Bicycles has one for you so check them out this Holiday season.

Readywares Waxed Canvas Zipper Tool Bags
Do you know anyone good with their hands, has lots of tools of their chosen trade and needs some organization in their toolbox or bag? How about Readywares Waxed Canvas Zipper tool bags? They’re constructed of waxed canvas. Oh, my! And have brass YKK zippers. I’m feeling faint. They’re a little over 1 foot wide and a little over 7 inches deep, a perfect size to shove some screwdrivers, wrenches, pencils, pens, or whatever into. Since they use waxed canvas, they have excellent water resistance and can take some abuse without tearing or puncturing.
They are $40 for 4 pouches in tan, olive, navy, and black. After taking off my shoes and doing some math, that comes out to $10 bucks a pouch. I’ve bought some pouches from big brand tool companies that cost more and aren’t made of waxed canvas. I’ve also bought cheaper ones only to have the zippers give up the ghost in no time flat. After organizing my work tool bag, I’m even thinking of using one to replace my toiletry bag to save space when traveling. I could even use one for keeping all my various cables and chargers in one so I’m not digging around in my backpack to find the one I need. They will make a great gift for all kinds of makers, travelers, outdoorsmen and women, and anyone who could use some rugged pouches for their stuff. They’re pretty, practical, and priced accordingly.

DOD Sugoi Adjustable Camp Chair
Do you like to go camping with the family? Do you have friends over to enjoy the firepit in your backyard? Or like my wife, do you spend your Fall attending school bazaars and church craft fairs selling items? In any situation like this, you’ll want to have a portable chair, one that is both easy to set up and comfortable to sit in.
DOD’s adjustable camp chair is known as Sugoi, a Japanese word that means wow. The design starts with a square core of connected metal tubes. They extend downward with adjustable height legs—this chair is good for adults and kids both—and upward with support for the back and the front. It can even be used without the legs, if you want to sit just above the ground. Small, reinforced slots are used to hang the cotton canvas onto the tubes. The chair is surprisingly comfortable whether leaning back and relaxing with a mug of hot chocolate or leaning forward to roast a marshmallow
Perhaps the best part of this camp chair is its ability to be folded up and stored in the included bag. It takes up so little space and is easy to carry. Wherever you’re going, all the way to a state park or just out back to the porch, DOD’s Sugoi is the perfect camp chair to bring along.

LowePro RunAbout Pack-Away Daypack
One of my favorite things to do when I travel is to hike, and that usually requires a daypack. But unless you take your daypack as a carry-on or personal item, it can be inconvenient to include. The LowePro RunAbout Pack-Away changes that.
This daypack is light and packable, making it easy to slip into your larger luggage. But it still has the carrying capacity and most features of a traditional daypack, including waist belt, sternum strap, and side pockets. The pack weighs about 400g (0.9 lb), and has a capacity of about 18L, resulting in internal dimensions of 24 x 16 x 48 cm (9.45 x 6.30 x 18.90 in). The pack body is made of 70D triple ripstop nylon, which is recycled. Access to the pack contents is through a traditional drawstring top opening, or a full zipper that extends down the center of the rear of the pack.
The bag is designed for photo-hikers and is compatible with the LowePro Gear-Up inserts. However, I’ve found the bag to function very well as a traditional daypack for lighter loads. The side compression straps, deep side pockets, numerous webbing loops, and front stretch pockets provide tons of versatile storage.
There are some drawbacks that come with a packable pack. There is no padding in the pack at all, and also no frame or support. When used with the LowePro Gear-up inserts, the inserts provide support. With bulky, heavier, or uneven loads on long hikes, a traditional pack might be a better choice. But as a packable pack, the LowePro RunAbout Pack-Away is loaded with features and will accompany me on my future travel hikes!
