Design and features

I didn’t know what to expect when I opted for the VEVOR Hat Press review. I’ve read a lot of reviews online when looking for a tumbler heat press, and the machines always seemed hit-or-miss when it came to build quality.

The VEVOR Hat Press came fully assembled, and I was pretty impressed with just how sturdy it was. Everything on the machine appears to be very well-built; everything seems stout, from the steel frame to the foam-covered handle.

When open, there’s plenty of room to align your hat and your transfer design.

The die-cast aluminum plate design is rated for a service life of 12,000 hours. This machine will probably outlive me. The ergonomic foam parallel arm handle ensures an even press. The adjustable pressure knob is large enough to get a good grip and makes getting the correct pressure easy.

There’s also the spring-loaded cap/hat stretcher that ensures your hat not only remains where you put it but also helps pull out wrinkles. That’s a feature that I didn’t even know existed.

The operation of the VEVOR Hat Press is about as easy as it could be. Simply set the temperature and the timer for how long you want to press. Once the press reaches the desired temperature, lowering the handle starts the timer. When the time has been reached, it beeps continually.

The Vevor hat press has easy-to-operate controls and an easy-to-read digital readout.

The heat transfer vinyl that I used called for 300-320°F, and 10 to 20 seconds. Once the machine has heated up, it really doesn’t take long to press your design.

One of my test presses

I was somewhat new to vinyl transfers, so I forgot to mirror my first transfer. I noticed before I did the heat press, but I continued on my test shirt anyway. It worked great the first time.

When the machine reaches temperature, just lower the handle, and the timer starts automatically.

My test print was not mirrored, but I pressed anyway on a test shirt just to check things out. The color difference is because the vinyl is an iridescent color shift vinyl.

I decided I needed a Gadgeteer hat, so I proceeded to put the logo on a blank cap that I had. The cap has a seam down the middle, but it still worked great.

Not bad for a first-time user!

Here’s my face. Sorry, it doesn’t get any better without the hat.

What I like

  • Came fully assembled
  • Appears to be very well built
  • Easy to operate

What I’d change

  • Nothing I can think of

Final thoughts

Overall, I’m very impressed with the VEVOR Hat Press. It’s a simple, well-built device that does precisely what it’s supposed to. It’s very well built and doesn’t take up a lot of space. I’m going to play around with more vinyl and leather patches next. Now, excuse me while I go look up some bulk hat sales.
