CROWDFUNDING NEWS – I have four Kickstarter campaigns for you today. Three of them are from my favorite product categories: notebooks and EDC. Check them out!

Rocketbook Axis

What is it?

Rocketbook Axis is a reusable notebook system. Buy once and use it FOREVER.

Why do I like it?

I like the Rocketbook Axis because Rocketbook notebooks practically last forever due to the fact that you can clean the FriXion ink off the pages and start over. Rocketbook notebooks aren’t new to us, we’ve reviewed a few different Rocketbook products over the years and I received one for Christmas last year and have been using one every day.

This new Rocketbook Axis takes things up a notch because this one has a hardcover. It also uses magnets so that you can easily rearrange the included paper packs. Each Axis will include one lined and dot-grid combo page pack, a Pilot FriXion pen, and a microfiber cloth. Additional page pack templates (including dot grid, lined, graph, blank, Cornell, meetings, calendar, fitness, and Dungeons, and Dragons) will also be offered. And just like other Rocketbook products, it interfaces with an app that will digitize your handwritten text and sent to your favorite cloud services.

The Rocketbook campaign ends on 4/30/21 and they have already surpassed their funding goal of $10,987. You can pre-order a Rocketbook starting at $60. After the Rocketbook campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in November 2021. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Book NOTA

What is it?

Book NOTA is a modular notebook system for keeping notes, journals, etc.

Why do I like it?

I love the concept of the Book NOTA because I’m a huge fan of the Traveler’s Notebook style of journals. I even wrote an article on how to make your own Midori Traveler’s notebook cover that continues to be read 8 years after I wrote it. Those covers inspired me to make rekindle my hobby of leathercraft and I have been making covers for my family for the last year. You can check some of them out on my Instagram ( @gadgeteer ) channel.

The Book NOTA system is awesome because it’s modular and uses magnets so that you can customize your notebook’s pages and organization. This product makes me want to figure out another DIY project to make something similar.

NEOZOON

What is it?

NEOZOON is an LED lamp that sticks almost anywhere with a suction cup.

Why do I like it?

I like the NEOZOON because it’s a unique rechargeable LED lamp. I haven’t seen any other lamps like this one and… yeah. There really isn’t that much more you can say about it other than the fact that is a bit spendy at $133.

Keytool

What is it?

Keytool is a stainless steel key holder that doubles as a pocket knife and multi-tool

Why do I like it?

I like the Keytool for a couple of reasons. I like the gold colored one. I’m usually not a fan of gold anything, but there’s something about this one that catches my eye. I like the size of the Keytool. It hits the sweet spot of not being too large or too small. It can hold 2-5 keys and optional blade and multi-tool add a bit driver, pry bar, and spoke wrench for versatility.
