NEWS – Since Apple discontinued its own routers a few years ago Apple fans have been looking for an easy way to connect their smart home devices with Apple’s HomeKit service. Apple announced HomeKit support for third-party routers at their WWDC event last June but manufacturers have been slow to adopt the service. Amazon’s eero brand has become one of the first to support HomeKit, bringing it to its line of mesh routers running eeroOS 3.18.0 or later.

Designed with security in mind, HomeKit is a software framework that allows devices to communicate with each other in the privacy of your home network without needing to send data over the internet. HomeKit for Routers separates your full network from other devices on the network by creating a virtual firewall. HomeKit support is compatible with eero, eero Pro, and eero Beacon models.
