I don’t like using the virtual keyboard on my iPad, but I dislike having a heavy, bulky keyboard case on my iPad even more. Of course, another problem with expensive keyboard cases is that they aren’t likely to fit your next device when you upgrade. With the Logitech Keys-to-go Portable Keyboard, you’ll have a Bluetooth keyboard that’s compatible with smartphones and tablets. It’s a little stand-alone accessory, so you won’t have to worry about bulky cases that won’t fit anything else. Of course, like most devices these days, the Keys-to-go keyboard is optimized to work with Apple iPhones, iPads, and even the Apple TV. It has special iOS function keys, but the standard keyboard functions should work with any Bluetooth-enabled phone or tablet.
The keyboard is compact at only 9.5″ X 5.4″ X 0.24″, and it weighs about 6.4 ounces. You’ll be able to throw it in your bag without even noticing the extra weight. It’s a mechanical keyboard covered with FabricSkin. It’s waterproof and shakes off dirt and crumbs, so it’s built for the rigors of the on-the-go life. You won’t even have to worry about charging it frequently, because it’s good for about 3 months on a charge. The Keys-to-go Portable Keyboard is available in black, red, or teal for $69.99 at Logitech. (Santa! I want the red one!)

I have one of these … almost bought the red version but photos online showed red, pink, various shades of red, so I bought the black version direct from Logitech. Free shipping to Canada, taxes included and no duties/fees. The black matches well with the black front/face of my iPad Air. The keyboard material is almost exactly the same as the iPad Air Smart Cover.
Still getting used to typing on it… There are easier to use, thicker and heavier keyboards without the fabric covers, but it is incredibly portable. As a result I have it with me anytime I carry my iPad Air in my Waterfield Indy leather bag. I can’t really comment on battery life – after a week of use it is fine – have not charged it once – arrived fully charged in the box.
FYI it works fine with the Apple TV… also tested with my Windows desktop PC w/ Bluetooth dongle, so I suppose it would be fine with a Windows Surface tablet too.
