Style is not something that I think of when thinking of a keyboard. However, when I noticed the SteelSeries APEX gaming keyboard while browsing the web recently, that is exactly what I thought – stylish. There are five illumination zones that can each be customized from 16.8 million colors, and the layout of the keyboard looks simple and elegant.
Diving in further, there is a layout of buttons designed for gamers, including small bumps to indicate where the W key is, 22 macro keys, two diagonal arrow keys, and my favorite, a key to disable the windows key. The macro keys are also raised for easy access to the 88 different macros you can have. The keyboard itself is plug-and-play ready and most of the features will work without installing their SteelSeries Engine, but if their software is installed, you can truly customize your gaming experience. SteelSeries also boasts it to be the the worlds fastest keyboard to date. The Apex is set to release in early Q2 and will retail for $99.99.
