Now that floppies have gone the way of the Dodo, USB flash drives are the quickest way to backup a file or two quickly or transfer a file to another computer. I’ve bought a lot of flash drives over the years, but two things about them bother me: the caps always disappear and I can’t find one when I need one. The new Store ‘n’ Stay USB drive from Verbatim addresses my pet peeves. The tiny Store ‘n’ Stay is small enough that you can just leave it in the USB port all the time, so you’ll always know where it is. It protrudes only 5mm from the side of the computer, so it won’t interfere with fitting your laptop into bags. It can be easily removed when you need to share files. The drive works with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000; Mac OS 9 or higher; Linux Kernel 2.6 and higher. It’s available in 4GB ($19.99), 8GB ($29.99), and 16GB ($59.99) from Verbatim.

Nice to have a SB drive that will sit almost flat against the laptop instead of sticking out and being always being afraid of knocking it off or breaking it. I have a Bluetooth USB for one of my notebooks that sits flush- very nice 🙂
