This little digital camera is a replica of the famous Rolleiflex 2.8F twin lens reflex camera. The Rolleiflex MiniDigi AF 5.0 camera is only about 2.9 x 1.8 x 1.8″ and weighs 3.5 ounces. Have always loved the look of that film camera…especially that one can take a photo without bringing the camera up to the eye.
Never did get why they didn’t make a full size replica, but instead chose to make a mini version that appears very clumsy to hold.

I’m dating myself…but when I was 6 years old, my dad worked as a photographer for the local newspaper, and I got to “take pictures” on one of those, and help him develop the photos in the dark room. I can still smell the developer & stop bath chemicals 🙂

After reviewing the specs (5 megapixel…interpolated. REALLY?), we have a VERY hard time believing that the images will be competitive with even the low end of today’s digital cameras… and definitely not with anything in the $250+ range.
Still…can’t beat the retro-look 🙂
