I don’t know about you guys, but I have a raging case of iPad fever! I spent a lot of time yesterday looking at iPad apps and accessories. In my online travels, I discovered some gorgeous wooden cases made by Substrata, a woodworking company in Oregon. Substrata already offers beautiful wood cases and stands for iPhone and iPod touch, and they are introducing a box and a case with a sliding cover for the iPad. The current photos show prototypes of these cases, which will be available around June. There is no price available for the iPad products yet, but the iPhone and touch cases sell for about $55 to $120, depending on your device, and the case style and wood selection.

Beautiful cases but I would have an issue with not being able to charge the iPad while in the case…
I was also looking for something similar. But didn’t find anything around. So, I designed an iPad stand made of wood. Here is the link for it. iPad wooden stand docking station
@soch Very nice! I’m envious of people who can make things like that.
@Larry G They do say on their website the are fine-tuning their design and you can leave them feedback with your ideas and suggestions.
I ordered this case on 7/10 directly from Substrata, and at the time the website did not mention anything about a delay in deliver. I paid for express shipping. After 3 weeks of calling/emailing I finally heard back from Brendan. He told me that the cases were not ready but would be soon. After more emails, phone calls and a shipping problem, I got an email on 9/26 promising that the case would “arrive in 2-3 days.” Today is 10/10. Two weeks since that email and three months since my order. Still no case. No tracking number. No shipping confirm. And no response to either email or the voicemail I left. I am currently working with PayPay and my bank to get my $185 back.
