Off topic alert…
Last August, we had to put our 15 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi
to sleep. I didn’t think I’d ever be ready to have another dog
again, since Kasey was my first dog and it really tore me up when
she was gone. One year has passed and now the ‘when can we get
another dog?’ questions have started up at my house. At first I was
totally against the idea, but after getting involved in researching
breeds for the perfect dog, the excitement of a new pet has started
to make my reluctance disappear. As it stands, we think the best
breed for us is the American Toy Terrier. This is a very small dog
that thinks it is a big dog. It doesn’t require much grooming and
can take care of its own exercise needs. Both of these points were
at the top of our list since I don’t want a lot of pet hair
floating around (We already have a long hair cat) and working 2
full time jobs leaves little time during the week to go for
walks.
So here’s the thing… do any of you out there own an American
Toy Terrier? If so, I’d love to talk to you about your experiences.
