Phonak PFE 232

This is a bummer for fans of in-ear monitors. Phonak, one of the more respected brands of earphones, has decided to cease operations of the Audéo line of earphones and concentrate on their core business: devices for the hearing impaired. Phonak spokesperson Harris Gilbert stated that Audéo earphones will continue to be available in the US but new inventory will no longer be produced. The Gadgeteer ran a review of Audéo’s wonderful – but insanely expensive – PFE 232 earphone. While Audéo made some less expensive models, the PFE 232′s price didn’t help Phonak make inroads into an already crowded market. They will be missed.
