The Phoenix speaker from Beacon Audio is about the size of a coffee mug, but don’t let the size fool you.  This Bluetooth-activated speaker has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that’s capable of 8 hours of playback time.  It measures 3.2″ X 3.2″ X 3.2″ and weighs 7 ounces, so it’s small enough to take with you.  It connects with any Bluetooth-enabled device and has a range of 35 feet.  There’s an audio-in jack on the back for use with non-Bluetooth devices, too.  Beacon says the Phoenix is capable of room-filling sound at a quality and volume not usually found in a speaker so small.  The Phoenix is available in black, blue, or red; it’s $99 at Beacon.

The exact product you just reviewed is available, with a different name from Amazon, for half the price. Websites like yours (that I read every week) could do us all a real service by identifying these companies that simply rebrand and double the price.
