Bushnell HD Torch – Now Even Flashlights Have Gone HD

I love flashlights and sometimes spend hours looking at them on various retail web sites. But you have to admit, other than size, style and lumens, there really isn’t THAT much of a difference from one torch to another. That’s why I was really excited when I stumbled upon the Bushnell HD Torch during a surfing session. I’d never seen a flashlight with a square beam before – hence the HD designation. I wondered if it was any good, so I ordered one from Amazon for $64 (full review soon). In the mean time, this flashlight isn’t for your pocket. It’s about 9 inches long and has some heft to it. It runs on 2 3-Volt lithium batteries (included) and provides 165 lumens on high power for 90 minutes. And yes, it throws a perfectly square beam of light that is really crazy looking. It  has some other nice features as well, but I’ll tell you all about them in my review.

Do you know why they decided to make a flashlight with a square beam?

I’m waiting for the flashlight that produces irregular polygons!

It’s 9″ long and it only takes 2 Lithium batteries?

What takes up the rest of the space?
